And some Christians are enabling him by teaching that belief in a literal Genesis is necessary for salvation, and in the process compound the error by trying to convince others that the theory of evolution is inherently atheistic. I'd hate to have to answer to Jesus for that.

I don't think Satan needs Christians to enable him.

He's quite capable of doing things on his own -- to a point -- and operated over 4000 years before Christians came on the scene.

Nope, the equivalent structure is formed differently in most monkeys.

The humans have the same set up as the great apes.

Not in the least.

Facts:
- We have the physical and biological traits that define us as a great apes.
- The pattern of genetics is most similar to great apes, in particular chimps.
- Genetics can be used to determine family relationships.

Given these facts it's a reasonable and sincere conclusion that humans have a common ancestor with chimpanzees.

You might assert that it's wrong, but calling it a lie is unreasonable.

Those facts are deception then. Our common ancestors are Adam and eve
