But why would he create something with billions of years of age while a book claiming to be His word says that it's only 6,000?

The Bible doesn't say the earth is 6000 years old.

In fact, It says:

2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

So yes.

God created the earth old -- (like the raisin bread) -- but by concatenating the genealogies, one can see that the earth has only been in existence a little more than 6000.

And yet that doesn't make sense. Why would God create the Earth to be billions of years old, when in fact it's only been around for 6,000 years?

Is God lying? Or is the Bible wrong?

Because some things are better off old, than new.

Aged cheese is a good example.

And would you buy a loaf of raisin bread that had juicy grapes in it? or would you expect raisins?

It is not a tightrope. I my mind there is no conflict between belief in G-d and the acceptance that evolution is a valid scientific theory. That evolution is a valid scientific theory is fact.

The issue is that what the Bible says (not what God says, what the Bible says) is completely different to what God made. That's the issue.

Educated Christians dont have problems with evolution.

At least our creationists are mostly honest about admitting they
are not educated in any science
