• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

May I ask for prayers for my country? I'm out of the loop, but it sounds serious. Please and thank you. God bless!
Interesting times we live in, eh? Sending prayers.

Ooof, hang in there
Thank you kindly!!!   It was a rough weekend, but I survived. :ahem: Now relaxing and hopefully will catch up on some rest tonight! ^_^

Good. I was just thinking, oh no! We haven't heard from Miss Somber in over 24 hours! ^-^
Aww!
Between clearing clutter, family and going to a wedding, it was a pretty crazy weekend, but I made it through! ^_^

Can't believe it will be one and a half week from now that I will be taking my long break from social media and CF during the lent season till Easter.

Unfortunately by that time all my notifications will disappear as they did last year. There are four people on CF with birthdays that I will be missing out on wishing a happy birthday till then.
Oh wow!!! We will miss you, but completely understand!!!! Hope it will be a blessed time.

I hope you all had a good day today! :):):):)
Thank you!!!   Hope you did too!!

Every time I go to someone else's wedding it reminds me of why I never want one. I think eloping would be much simpler and save money. lol :muahah:
Right!? Last wedding I went to was my sister's- so much stress. Sometimes "simpler" is better.

I feel you 100%!!! The last one I was at I'm guessing they spent around 20k at the very least, and they looked so overwhelmed and stressed the whole time, so I felt bad for them. I just don't understand why go through all that stress and money when you can't even enjoy what should be special and joyful moment. Plus when all my family is together it can be so stressful in and of itself at times, so I'd rather they not be sitting there watching if I ever got married. :muahah:

obviously if I'm lucky enough to ever be getting married, my answer would be whatever she wants. I'd want my wife to have her "dream wedding", even if that meant being stressed and broke xD
But since that's an entirely imaginary scenario, I can voice my opinion of simple, tasteful, fun, and memorable, a good time to look back on and remember, not something just for pictures to impress people on social media.

Take heart...you're likely to get married, but it will probably be in a prison or asylum somewhere where your family won't be able to attend. So, there's that.

Lucky enough? Oh you'll probably be the next of us to get married from here!! ^_^ haha! :p Yeah, I mean I have nothing against others spending money or big weddings whatsoever even if it wouldn't be my thing. I love the beautiful dresses, the flowers, all the dancing and such!! And I hope everyone here is able to get their dream wedding one day! ^_^ But yeah, if I had a man who wanted me to do long speeches in front of my family or go overboard on the wedding my anxiety would probably kill me before the wedding finished.:muahah: LOL! Right on!! Making special memories is the most important thing!

At church last night the couple sitting in front of us was VERY cuddly. I felt so horrible. @VCR-2000 I know that's something that frustrates you too. When you go to church & all the couples so cuddly & loving, like God is trying to rub it in our faces. I tried to think of the community on here offering me hugs when I whine here & that helped some. I thought of (was it an article I was reading or someone posted here?) how couples control & make up the majority of chuches even tho Paul hi-lighted all the virtues of being single. :(

This morning I found out my cousins are having another baby. It feels like my heart got ripped out. I wish I hadn't been told. I've never even been on a date. What am I going to do when I'm 40-50-60?

I want to be married so much! But I want to elope too! If she wants a big wedding w/ 1000 guests she's probably not the one for me!

EDIT: a wedding w/ just immediate family would be okay too!
