*orthodox only please*

long time no see!
I've just been lurking lol.
So, question is:
Is hearing the Old Testament from a Jewish perspective bad/wrong/unadvisable?
I’ll give an example of what I'm specifically referring to to help make things clearer.
For example, the Most Blessed Theotokos’ name is Mary.
But it was Miriam yes? In Hebrew?
And Miriam was Moses sister.
I only made that connection from looking at academic Jewish sources.
I hope that makes sense.
There are other examples but I can’t think of any off the top of my head.
Of course, there are some sources that I don’t think I should use as any sort of source like the Midrash, the Talmuld, etc.
And finally, to use good judgment that all Orthodox sources and though overrules any other source I find?
Now, this isn’t just for Jewish academic sources but for like all sources lol.
bc idk what I’m even going to do with myself when I go back to school for my masters in library science uh oh lol
