Why is mandatory vaccination ok for kids, but not adults?

This question is not intended to express an opinion for or against mandatory COVID vaccination, anywhere, for anyone. I'm just curious as to why society goes along with it for their own little kids, (or else the kids can't enroll in school), but the same people who tolerate it for kids, say that adults shouldn't be forced into vaccination by government? Why not both, or neither? Why one but not the other? What's the logic?

There are people who do not vaccinate their children. The State can require vaccinations to attend public schools but anti-vaxxer parents homeschool their children or else make some other arrangements. But I don't think the government has the authority to require an adult to be vaccinated. It's overreach. And especially not the Federal government. And I say that as a vaccinated person.

Now, the best thing the government can do is keep their politics out of the vaccination business and encourage people to be vaccinated. How about not running around telling people the vaccination isn't safe then turning around and stigmatizing people for not being vaccinated when it suits your political interests.

The issue is that there’s no long-term data for the Covid vaccine.

Not the people who are Covid-spreading to others and dying?
I thought this was the main issue.

It's not ok at all.

You don't know me. I don't know you, nor your family, nor the health status of your family, your beliefs, nor the depth nor the facets of your religious convictions.

Suppose that I were to knock on your door, and say "I don't know you; but I would like you to put me in charge of making the medical decisions for you and your family. I would like you to put me in charge of who you can meet, and where, and the capacity of how many people you will be gathering with; if I decide that you may leave your home. I would like you to let me decide whether or not you may attend church. I would like you to put me in charge of whether or not your business can remain open, regardless of whether or not you have done anything wrong. If you don't own a business; I would like you to give me the power to decide whether or not you may go to work to support your family."

Would you agree to my offer?

That 50 times as many people are dying from Covid vs common Flue?

Mandates are evil.
Romans 13:2
Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

Romans 13:6
For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.

I'm just curious as to why society goes along with it for their own little kids, (or else the kids can't enroll in school)?

covid vaccines are optional in our school district
masks were required last year but are optional this year

most kids are NOT wearing masks this year
surprisingly, my teen's middle school of 1,000 has only had 0-2 cases/week

teen stopped wearing mask in Oct when it was 0 cases
got 2 back-to-back colds
she's back to wearing mask since she hates colds

If you are not worried about the death of you child, that's OK.
Just be aware that other parents are worried.

And a mask doesn't stop the Virus from getting in.
A mask helps to keep globs of your spit from getting out.

So your mask is to protect others.

we use masks scientifically proven to keep one safer
(see studies that are out there)
UNTRUE that masks don't protect wearer!!!

should I be worried about my vaccinated teen?

btw, just checked- ZERO cases at the middle school, again

Adults can fall over dead. It happens. But we worry about that happening to kids.

I didn't say they don't protect the wearer. I said they don't stop the virus.
But mostly they keep your globs of spit near your own face where they belong.

Ealy documented outbreaks were one person in a bar spewing like a fountain infecting scores of people.
A mask helps reduce the number of people that get hit with spit.
Yes, it help wearer as well.

Should you be concerned? No. Anybody who has been infected OR vaccinated will most likely have zero to mild symptoms if re-infected.

if they're worried, then get their kids vaccinated to help protect from hospitalization/death
But they don't all believe in masks or vaccines. God given rights and all that.

So we should be concerned about all the kids no matter how patriotic the parents are.

then they become the parents crying in the hospital when their child is on a ventilator or dies

then they regret not getting child vaccinated
if only.....
