The False Teaching of what happens at the Rapture.

I believe people have been taught through preaching, books, videos etc a wrong view of what happens at the Rapture.

This false teaching says that when people are caught away to meet the Lord others will see them rise in the air, and great devastation will happen. Planes will fall out of the sky as Christian pilots are taken away, plus cars and buses, trains etc will all crash because their drivers were believers and were caught away.

People are told that unbelievers will be shocked and horrified as they realise they have been `left behind.`

None of this is a true picture, I believe, of what will really happen at the rapture.

The Truth of what will happen at the Rapture.

God`s word says that we will see that Day, (of the Lord) approaching and thus get together more.

`...exhorting, (encouraging and warning) one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.` (Heb. 10: 25)

I believe the Holy Spirit will be stirring our spirits expectantly so that we know the time is very close.

`To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear...` (Heb. 9: 28)

In the world people will think WW 3 is happening. The Russian Federation plus Iran, Ethiopia and Libya, (Ez. 38: 1 - 5) will be brought down by God to the mountains of Israel for judgment. The amassing of those troops will be very plain to see. Even now there is movement in those nations. People of the world will be looking at their phones, TV, etc in great fear of a nuclear World War.

The Lockdowns due to a supposed pandemic will keep people separate from others. Most will only be concerned with getting supplies, (which may be limited) and returning home.

Then when those who are eagerly waiting and looking for the Lord are taken, their bodies will be changed and there will be nothing left to indicate where they are. If some people do notice that so and so is not around there are many reasons for that - gone into a covid quarantine camp, visiting relatives, gone on holiday, etc etc.

Have you ever thought about this?

The rapture happens as a thief comes at night very suddenly and the believer not prepared may suffer loss. Just like a person does when a thief breaks into a home. Jesus is portrayed as the thief, so i do not see any prompting by The Holy Spirit.

For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

I think people will look around at the world and the chaos that is happening. Suddenly they will see the beast and think that the rapture has occurred!!!! And they missed it!!!!
This is will a fulfillment of 2 Thess 2

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

People who believe in a pre-trib rapture will be snared by this. It is literally what will happen to them. They will reason that they are in the middle of the trib, and they have been taught all their lives that they should have been raptured. Paul is literally writing these words to you.
Hopefully they will see the truth and not lose faith. Paul was very concerned for those who believe in a secret rapture before the antichrist emerges.

"...be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand."

Hi d Taylor,

Yes the Lord says that He will come for those in the trib, as a thief in the night, however to the eagerly waiting believer in the Body of Christ He will not come as a thief.

`But you, brethren, are NOT IN DARKNESS THAT THIS DAY SHOULD OVERTAKE YOU...` (1 Thess. 5: 4)

Hi SavedBygrace,

The Day of the Lord God Almighty for judgment upon the nations and deliverance of Israel, is NOT for the Body of Christ. The matured Body will be taken to its eternal setting in glory where they will judge the world system and fallen angels. (rev. 3: 21, 1 Cor. 6: 2 & 3)

They are not in darkness because these believers believe in the rapture. The believers that either do not know about the rapture or do not believe in a rapture will be believers who are in darkness and will suffer loss. Like when a thief comes a steals the home owners belongings.

No tribulation as in God`s judgment upon the rebellious nations.

And I agree that many who think they are Christians but are not eagerly waiting but burdened down with life or wanting their pleasures etc will go into that trib.

Well what i am saying as i may not have stated this clearly.

All believers will be raptured, it is the ones who are in the dark (not prepared) who will suffer loss (like being robbed by a thief).

The loss they will suffer will be at the judgment seat of The Messiah and the loss will be a loss of reward.

That's wrong. Believers are PROMISED tribulation.

Why DO people believe in a rapture to heaven?

It’s a great idea! Get away from this troubled world.

It is the only end times doctrine that many have ever been taught.

But the fact there is no actual supporting scripture for this idea, is no deterrent because some scriptures can be made to infer the idea of a rapture. There are prophesies telling about spiritual happenings, but none of them actually say that any living people will be taken to heaven.

As there are many prophesies telling about the future of Israel, some people make the error of thinking the Israel of God is the Jewish State of Israel and the Christian Church is therefore, separate from the Israel of prophecy. This is incorrect, many passages in the New Testament confirm that there is only one people of God, call them the Ekkelasia, spiritual Israel or simply God’s righteous Christian people and the rest of the world are the ungodly peoples, doomed for destruction.

But the false idea of Two People Two Promises has to be an immutable tenet of the rapture theory for them to go to heaven, while ethnic Israel faces tribulation, etc. That this idea is un-Christian: ‘let them burn, we will be safe’, as well as the shockingly bad notion of ‘escape from responsibilities’, seems to not be a concern for them.

With the belief of a rapture removal to heaven firmly fixed in their minds, people then fail to see the truth of what God has planned for the future. There will be testing times, to come upon everyone as Luke 21:35 and 1 Peter 4:12 make crystal clear. What we must pray for is not escape by removal, but for the Lord’s protection, promised to His people during all that is coming and for all the faithful Christians to stand, dressed in white linen, before Jesus when He Returns. Revelation 19:9-11

Whether the rapture is Pretrib or Post Trib, the same should be true in either case. There will be Christians driving vehicles somewhere on this planet at the time, regardless. Unless driving has been outlawed by the time the rapture takes place, or that no Christians are allowed to drive anymore, only the unsaved are.

Yet, the Bible never actually depicts the world going into total chaos once the rapture takes place, where vehicles are crashing because their drivers have been taken up in the rapture. Even so, how can there not be accidents galore if drivers of vehicles disappear while they are driving at the time?

I don't know why you would label a logical deduction as a false teaching, though?

You claimed believers will not have tribulation but scripture says they will. It's not "pulling a verse out" and misapplying it.

The subject of the thread is the rapture which is connected to the tribulation. My saying that believers will not have tribulation is in the context of, that believers will not go through the tribulation.

As i was replying to this post.

Yet they do go through the tribulation. The 144,000 Christian Jews do. The two witnesses, which are two prophets and two Christian churches do. Revelation 20 also says Christian beheaded martyrs do. Revelation 13 speaks of Christian saints so they do. Revelation 12:17 says satan will wage a war against Christians, and that is seen starting in Revelation 13. Christ said Christians will go through the Great Tribulation in the Olivet discourse.

The reward judgment seat of Christ is reward for those things done under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and not for self-aggrandizement.

Hi David,

God`s word says -

- `this Day should NOT overtake you...` (1 Thess. 5: 4)
- `exhort (encourage & warn) one another & all the more AS YOU SEE THE DAY APPROACHING.` (Heb. 10: 25)

The believers who are `eagerly waiting`(Heb. 9: 28) for the Lord will be on the `train platform,` (as it were), NOT driving vehicles etc but ready together on the platform seeing the train pull into the station - feeling the Lord drawing them to Himself by His great love which is greater than the pull of gravity.
