I just have a question, last night I had my first vision and it was an eye I think it was the eye of the Lord and his eye filled in with orange and then the vision was gone, and today I told my mom about it and it’s been awhile since I have read the book of Revelation and I was trying to quote a scripture Revelation 2:18
“And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭2:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬
And it’s been a long time since I have read Revelation and I only remembered bits and pieces of the scripture and tried telling my mom the scripture and I think I may have taken away from the scripture, hopefully not, I didn’t say it exactly how it is said in the Bible, and I also remembered Revelation 22:19
“and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬
And now I’m worried that my name may have been taken out of the book of life. Any encouragement or reassurance would be appreciated or any thoughts on this, thanks.

I have no authority in this area, but it sounds to me like you had a faulty memory of the scripture, and thus misquoted it by accident.
Since that time you have taken the effort to look up the scripture, you have admitted your mistake, and you now know what the correct wording is. And you have told us.
I think the only thing left to do is to share the correct version with your mom, and if your belief includes it, to tell a priest in your regular confession what happened.

Yes I just needed reassurance. I recently edited my post with the correct scripture, Revelation 22:19
“and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Thank you for responding it made me feel better.

Because the criterion of having your name written in the book of life is that you have total faith and trust in Christ, as long as you have that, your name will remain in it. The Scripture says, "By grace are you saved by faith [in Christ], not of yourself but it is the gift of God; not of works lest any should boast." Having a questionable vision and a misquote of Scripture doesn't take your name out of the book of life.

If you are getting thoughts and fears about it, then assume that they are coming from a demonic spirit of fear and doubt, and the Scripture says that the devil is a liar from the beginning, so no thought or fear originating from him can be trusted to any degree.

You are not saved by never sinning or by never making a mistake, you are saved because Jesus is taking each sin and washing you clean of it. So if you sinned here Jesus took that sin just as he does every other sin you ever have done or will do and make it no more.
This is why we are saved, by trusting in him, not of any worth we have or any goodness we have.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Hebrews 8:12
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
Nor does God remember those sins, they are gone. Each day is a new day.

Repent and move forward.

Your "first vision"? Are you expecting more? If so, why?

How do you know that whatever it was you saw was a vision from God? How do you know it was the "eye of Lord"? Maybe it was the eye of Sauron. Who's to say?

And now I’m worried that my name may have been taken out of the book of life. Any encouragement or reassurance would be appreciated or any thoughts on this, thanks.

Good grief. You have quite a dark view of God! Do you honestly think God is going to kick you out of His family because you got a Scripture reference wrong? Yikes. Maybe this irrational fear comes, though, because you haven't been studying your Bible. Maybe this is why you've got odd ideas about visions, too.

Yes it was my first vision, Christians or some Christians have Visions. Not really expecting more or know if I will have more cause I’m not Jesus, and I’m super confident it was a vision, I’m not 100% sure it was from Jesus, but hope it was and I’m pretty confident it was. And also not positive it was the Lord’s eye

Oh? In what context do such things occur in Scripture? Do you know? Why should you think you will have a vision just because other believers have?

I’m super confident it was a vision

Why?

I’m not 100% sure it was from Jesus, but hope it was and I’m pretty confident it was.

Why? I know many atheists who are super-confident about their atheism. Does their confidence make them right about their atheism? No. Why, then, should your confidence make you right about having had a vision from God?

Having a memory lapse is not taking anything away from the scripture. God is far bigger than that. Now if you form a cult based on a misinterpretation, that's different. Relax. You do not have a problem.

God loves you .... God is all four you.

He is not up there just waiting to whack you with a stick ... much less remove your salvation.

When changes are needed He will bring those things to your mind/heart ... just be sensitive to His Spirit ... and open to change .... knowing that the changes He is doing in you are for your good .... and that He is good.

God is not an angry taskmaster who shows affection only when you succeed. He is a loving Father who will always love you no matter what. Take time to receive the depth of his love for you today. Allow his love to heal you, transform you, free you, and lead you to the abundant life he longs to give.

Rest in the assurance of His love always. Amen.

1 John 4:16

16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

1 John 4:18

18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Psalm 86:15

15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

Ephesians 2:4-5

4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Well, orange is the color used on safety clothing of workers and hunters. So, I see orange to symbolically mean separation or distinction. And therefore it can be symbolic for holiness which means separation from this world.

So, if God's eye is orange, this could mean His eye . . . His way of seeing things . . . is different than how we can see things. In His love, He sees things differently than we do. And this is our example > we need to see things the way God's love has us seeing things . . . not only oriented to our own selves and worrying and wishing about our own selves.

"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment." (Philippians 1:9)

So . . . in case God really gave you this vision and in case it means a special thing, this would tell me that God is still interested in you and He has His hope for you. And love "hopes all things," we have in 1 Corinthians 13:7. So, I would not invent and trust other possibilities. But trust God to be the Judge, trust Him to correct you however He knows you need.

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams:”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Are you understanding this verse in its context? Have you studied out what it's saying?

The apostle Peter quoted the prophet Joel, in part, in explanation of what he and his fellow disciples of Jesus were doing in the street, filled with the Holy Spirit and so able to preach the Gospel to all in their native tongues. Just as the power of the Holy Spirit had come upon various people in OT times, here and there, for short periods, he had now come upon the disciples but "poured out upon all flesh" rather than upon only a select few, saving all who would call upon the name of the Lord. (vs. 21)

The prophet Joel's words, though, about prophesying, seeing visions and dreaming dreams were specifically to the people of Israel, not to the Christian reading his words millenia later. Joel's words extended to those outside of the nation of Israel only in regard to Gentiles being fellow recipients of the Holy Spirit. But Joel says the sons and daughters of the Israelites would be the ones who would dream dreams, have visions, and prophesy.

Have others besides Jews had divinely-given dreams? Yes, a few. And visions? Maybe. Prophesying? Some today make an attempt - and have failed badly. How about in the NT? Do we read of Gentile Christians commonly dreaming dreams, and seeing visions, and prophesying? Nope. It's hard even to think of a non-Jew in the NT doing any of these things. Can you recall one? Strange, if Joel's prophecy concerning these things included Gentiles, as you seem to think.

God is far more interested in you becoming a holy, Christ-centered person, a careful student of His word and faithful ambassador for Him in the world. You don't have to ever have a vision, or dream a dream, or issue a prophecy to be such a person.

While I do not completely discount the possibility of God communicating to His people through miracles, dreams and visions, He primarily speaks through the written words of the prophets and the apostles (Ephisians 2:20), especially now that we have the complete scripture (1 Corinthians 13:8-10), and any interpretation and application of a particular verse should be based on its proper context (especially keeping in mind its primary audience and how they would have understood the message when they first read it) and a reasonable Biblical exegesis, without which we are prone to -- as Calvin puts it -- "entangling ourselves in a multitude of absurd figments".

Although if there's anything you can take away from this, be more literate of the Scriptures and gain a proper understanding what Christ actually teaches on the various issues of salvation, sanctification, etc. For while Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 2:12), we are called not to remain in ignorance, but to grow in faith and knowledge to the full stature of Christ (Ephisians 4:13)
