• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Modern day systemic racism, does it exist?

Im Not talking about individuals being racist. Every race has its racists and its not systemic racism. Systemic racism is where the system of laws are racist. The law actually protects minorities so it can't be rscist
So you're saying the "system" in what you define as "systemic racism" is "the laws", right? Not the courts or agencies or other parts of the government or institutions, businesses, schools, or law enforcement - just laws, right?

Not all officials are racist. How is that systemic racism?

The courts are government but are not systemically racist. You want us to believe the courts are systemically racist. As if courts abide by racist laws, but thats not the case. One racist judge doesn't make the system racism. Thats just racism.

Many examples have been given in many statistics. You've been told about how laws that the country was built on for 500 years have had an effect on this society and the stain has not washed away. It won't hurt to read more about it than a single definition in a dictionary.
We are not talking about the past. We are talking about the present

I didn't say they are or that that is systemic racism. But noted that you completely dodged my questions and won't identify what you think "systemic racism" is. Just as I thought, that's at the core of your game with this thread.

Systemic. Meaning the system of laws. The laws actually protect minorities so the system can't be racist

Well this is a new one - you replied twice to my post and failed to answer the questions in my post both times. It's as if you're really trying hard to make it look like you're answering it but without ever answering it.

The courts are government but are not systemically racist.
This doesn't answer anything I asked so I don't know why you're stating it in your response to me.

You want us to believe the courts are systemically racist.
Nothing in my post says I want you to believe anything. Especially about "systemic racism" which I was still asking you to provide your idea of what it means and you are continuing to avoid answering that.

As if courts abide by racist laws, but thats not the case. One racist judge doesn't make the system racism. Thats just racism.
And here you continue to give an answer to what you imagined and not what I actually asked.

It's well noted by me and pretty obvious to anyone reading our exchange that you are not interested in answering questions or actually discussing but just putting your ideas forth.

I'll be happy to continue if you should ever decide to actually respond to my questions with answers instead of irrelevant replies. But I'm pretty sure you are content to leave it where it is, as was your intention with this thread all along.

If you are sorry then why do you not try to understand and give an answer? I don't think you misunderstood so much as didn't want to answer.

So what are you saying?
The past has had an effect on the present. I could swear we've been over this before. That's also why I say you should read more about it.

We are not talking about the past. We are talking about the present
That's why I say you should read more about the topic you are debating. The law isn't the only system that exists. To understand how this is systemic, you have to study how we got to this point. Yes, the laws have changed but there is still a whole generation that hasn't and the people they have influenced.

The past has had an effect on the present.
Nobody in this conversation refutes that. But that has nothing to do with whether or not systemic racism exists TODAY
I could swear we've been over this before.
Yes! You keep bringing up stuff that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Enough already.
That's also why I say you should read more about it.
How about instead, YOU focus on answering questions when asked?
Again; when I said “hearts and minds is a result of individual racism” you replied “how do you think those hearts and minds got that way? Because the country was never racist?”

Now instead of insisting I read a bunch of books, how ‘bout if you simply explain what you meant by that?

You are trying to change the definition to fit your narrative.. Even using your flawed definition there is no system in place that discriminates against black Americans.

Ok. Not a game. I just don't want to go back.
You played your game in your last response to me, yet again. I don't believe that you "just don't want to go back". Your actions belie your claim.
