Decline in interest in creationism/ID over time.

This is no surprise. It is fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall heap to themselves teachers in accordance with their own lusts.

Sorry, but you appear to have it backwards. People have been abandoning unsound doctrine. Do you have a verse about that?

Interesting that you stick around. Can't think of any other reason than to sow discord.

It's a discussion forum. I'm here to discuss. ;)

Whut? You've been here a week with a few dozen posts. How about you get some runs on the board before coming across as some posting veteran who has his finger on the forum pulse.

I was active a decade ago up until 2018 when life threw curve balls. I can't remember my information. Sword of the Lord is I believe the name I was using at the time; had an administrator change it from the previous Mikhael, Disciple of Christ. 95% of my time was spent in OBOB. Thousands of posts. Proud atheists or other faith members have always proudly been here to tell us they don't care about Christianity. Confusing as the hot place.

That's the typical response I've found I get from creationists when pointing to creationism's decline over time. But people have been saying that sort of thing for 2000 years.

Hahah, LOL Well....what the poster pointed out was perfectly true though. The scriptures' do say before the Lord comes back there will be an increase of ungodliness as it was in the days of Noah so your attempt to reveal less people are interested in things like creationism doesn't indicate there's anything less truthful about creationism.

The other poster was merely pointing out to some don't let that fact discourage you for the reason he said but fact is you really do want people discouraged from their belief or why would you have responded with the above?

Half of Americans believe humans evolved, with the majority of these saying God guided the evolutionary process. However, the percentage who say God was not involved is rising.’ In U.S., 42% Believe Creationist View of Human Origins

I bet you though if you even ask the ones that believe in the evolutionary process (42 % of Americans you say) if they've listened to seminars providing rebuttals that creationists give they'd probably say NO they haven't. Some maybe yes but most not. There many of them too busy to be spending time on the subject....making a living....taking care of the family or watching their favorite TV show. So their conclusion isn't necessarily based on looking at what potentially can be the facts on both sides of the issue. So if you say had creationism/evolution debates at a university and you did an exist poll of people coming out....what might be their responses? Question did the creationist side make maybe some good valid points....I'm thinking you might be surprised to see them respond YES they did.

Well I hope the curve balls weren't too serious. But you're the new boy again now. And 'Proud atheists'? Makes us sound like a white supremacy offshoot group. How about you treat all members according to their posted views and not some preconceived ideas you might have. I promise to do the same.

I'll never be the new boy. Many of my relationships here transcend just CF. Several Christian members even put $1,000 into my old car a handful of years ago to fix it when my family needed it most. But that's not really the topic.

I treated the member exactly right. He or she said they don't put any stock into biblical prophecy. So my question naturally is, then why is CF the place for you?

In my not-so-humble opinion, in all my years discussing the matter with creationists, even the ones that have given it some thought are woefully misinformed about the scientific aspects of the evolutionary process.

They have a problem in that they can only use creationist sites for their information. And to say that it's not scientific is being generous. And if they use actual scientific articles or papers or quote actual scientists to try to make a point, there will be something that that person has said, or something in the paper or article quoted that will directly counter their beliefs.

You can always tell a forum creationist. Their fingers will be coloured purple from all the cherry picking they do and they'll walk with a limp from constantly shooting themselves in the foot.

Yeah, I had a car like that. A Ford Anglia - just like Harry Potter's. Dropped a big end pushing a ton just outside London and seized the engine. Put in a bigger motor from a Corsair, dropped the suspension and put in twin carbs. Painted it all black. Did the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs.

But that's not really the topic either.

I think you're opinion sounds just a little too biased.

The trick is to make sure that you have sufficient knowledge of the matter at hand so that one's bias leans towards the truth. And if one gains more knowlege one therefore becomes more biased. So I guess you might be right, even though it implies that I'm just a little too knowledgeable.

I'm much too modest to agree to that.

I think you're opinion sounds just a little too biased.

There are two very common habits associated with some of the more dedicated creationists.

One is to be absolutely certain about something they very obviously know little about and don't really understand - basically evolution.

The other is to use quotes out of context to make them appear to be saying what they're not. To be fair they are mostly unaware that they're doing since it's been spoon fed to them via some of the less than honest creationists.

This isn't a biased view. For those of us who have been talking with creationists for a number of years, it's an unfortunate fact of life.
