From Google Trends, showing interest in subjects by way of Google searches over time. Note that these results are for the United States only. I'm not sure if including other countries might skew the results, since outside of the U.S. creationism/ID generally doesn't have as large a presence.

 I don't know why you would think that "bandwagon" should be an effective means of persuasion in this matter...

Huh?

There is no attempt to persuade here. I'm just reporting the trend of interest over time via Google trends.

Its probably all atheists getting bored with arguing about those topics.

Looking at the Christian-only Creationism subforums here, there is also a marked decline in activity in those forums over time.

This is the Worldwide version of trends for (capital C) Creationism. It looks similar to the US version which is unsurprising since there is relatively little interest in Creationism outside of the US.

This is no surprise. It is fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

That's the typical response I've found I get from creationists when pointing to creationism's decline over time. But people have been saying that sort of thing for 2000 years.

is it possible that as more and more people gain wisdom, they will abandon stone age views?

anyway, what’s with the tall spikes in those charts?

The early spikes were probably a result of the Dover trial.

This was also addressed in scripture. 2 Peter 3:3-4.

But what happened in May 2014? There’s a common spike in a few charts at that point.

Edit: It seems that Gallup issued a survey at that time giving the figures for the number of creationists in the US. Maybe it was reported in a few news outlets.

‘PRINCETON, NJ -- More than four in 10 Americans continue to believe that God created humans in their present form 10,000 years ago, a view that has changed little over the past three decades. Half of Americans believe humans evolved, with the majority of these saying God guided the evolutionary process. However, the percentage who say God was not involved is rising.’ In U.S., 42% Believe Creationist View of Human Origins
