why do people think the moon landing was fake?

According to what source?

Not being funny, but the transmission source. And that you can find out with a receiver and a directional antenna.

And I'm sure people have been sent on dangerous missions before. But you are suggesting that the creme de la creme of pilots were selected for these missions and then told 'Hey, if it goes wrong, we send you off into the wilderness and you are never to contact your wife, your kids, your parents, your friends...ever again.

And everyone who knew it was fake - and there would have been hundreds if not thousands, who were all told 'shh...it's going to be our little secret'. And nobody in the last 50 plus years has said nothing at all.

Test pilots are risk takers. That's probably why test pilots were chosen in the first place. They were already trained and to used to going on highly risky missions. Plus probably a lot of them had test piloted top secret aircraft, without divulging information about it. So it would be obvious they knew how to keep a secret.

And everyone who knew it was fake - and there would have been hundreds if not thousands, who were all told 'shh...it's going to be our little secret'. And nobody in the last 50 plus years has said nothing at all.

Obviously if it had been faked, there would be only a few who knew about it. How many know all the details of top secret missions, devices and aircraft etc? Hundreds probably work on producing the stealth bombers and the like, but how many know all the details. Large scale top secret projects are departmentalized and compartmentalized, so that only a few know all the details.

So you had thousands of people designing and building a rocket that could take people to the moon but didn't. Makes perfect sense to some, I guess.

Your failure to elaborate, is causing your claim to lose credibility.

Yes I did. This is all about me. I'm behind all of it. The rocket didn't go to the Moon. It burned up in the atmosphere as its stages were dropped. The rocket only got the CM and LM compartment out into space.

For some of the same reasons some people believe in a flat earth, that Covid 19 was a hoax, that Trump was the greatest President ever and the election was stolen, and why some people refuse to be vaccinated----some people love conspiracy theories.

I didn't think I'd need to go too deeply into how a radio signal is detected. Do you want some diagrams? Here's one from here: Direction finding - Wikipedia

How does that prove location can't be faked? I know with internet transmissions, the location of origin can be faked. Someone in Phoenix can make it appear that they're on the North Pole.

Then I guess it's lucky that they were using radio and not the internet.

Just admit you can't back up the claim.

Maybe you didn't read the link that showed you how it's done. Let me know when you find a way to send a radio signal from the moon that doesn't look it comes from the moon. I'll be really interested. Honestly. No-one likes to be wrong but if I learn something new then I'm a happy man.

Now I'm playing "devil's advocate" in this. I'm well known for that in other circles. I would imagine origin of transmission as proof of men on the Moon, has been brought up before in the last 50 years. But apparently it didn't shut down skepticism, seeing as how this is a is a new thread. I've never really dug into the it was faked theories. Maybe I'll watch a video about it on a rainy day.

Measure the horizontal and vertical angle of the source using a directional antena or radio dish. Use a second one to do the same. You then have a triangle with the base length known - the distance between dishes. There were two used in Australia, about 290kms apart in Parkes and Canberra) and the the angles from the antennas to the source known. You then have the angle subtending the lines between tbe source of the antenas. You can then use basic trigonometry functions (sine, cosine etc) to give you the distance from the antenna to the source.

You then know where it is and how far away it is. But let me know how the radio dish can give one an angle that doesn't represent the angle between dish and source. That's the only way there can be a difference in the actual position and a false one.

Otherwise (in my own words) I think that we're done.

5 US probes landed on the Moon to transmit data. I wonder why transmissions from a Command Module orbiting the Earth couldn't have been routed though one of them.

Were there transmitters spaced along the flight path to the moon as well?

It probably would have been easier to send one from the Command Module. Perhaps the Lunar Module itself was sent. The Eagle has landed. But was anyone aboard?

Now President Trump ordered NASA to go back to the Moon by 2024, and they're working with Elon Musk to make that happen. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. Maybe they'll go antiquing and visit the Apollo 11 landing site.

I bet back in 72, most people thought we'd have a whole city on the Moon by now.

So they designed and built a rocket system capable of going to the moon, orbiting it, landing on it, taking off again, rejoining the CM and returning home. And they did this six more times? And even unloaded a moon buggy on the surface? You know we can see the tracks that the men made as they walked about plus the tracks of the buggy (remote control I guess)? And all the astronauts signed up to pretend they were dead if something went wrong and all the thousands of people involved have never said a word for over fifty years.

That bridge is still for sale. Let me know tomorrow morning if you're interested.
