  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We can speculate. We can get vaccinated. Or we can wait and watch to see how many are hospitalized in states and counties where the vaccination rates are relatively low. It is sad to consider how many will be infected in schools in TN and OK.

If they were under 12 they couldn’t get the vaccine. If only their families were responsible and caring enough to get vaccinated themselves they probably would have stayed well.
Why do you think the families didn't get vaccinated?

I just went with the 98%+ odds.

I think it is important to remind the unvaccinated at every turn that these infections are not random.

It us instructive to remember that one can get a vaccine in less time than it takes to make a convoluted rationalization as to why it's better to do nothing.
So your point can’t be substantiated. Thanks.

The blame and shame crowd doesn't need (or want) data, science or any other kind of empirical evidence. They literally make numbers up on the spot (98%+!) and blame and shame anyone who doesn't walk lockstep with the current narrative.

The blame and shame crowd...

I think perhaps you mean the "save your lives crowd?"

It would certainly be a "shame" if the deniers contracted the Delta variant.

No, I definitely mean blame and shame.

Did you know that democrats severely overestimate the actual risks of COVID? That's not denial, it's the hard facts as this poll shows;

How misinformation is distorting COVID policies and behaviors

This is a particularly enlightening poll, because it illustrates, quite clearly, that COVID policies and behaviors aren't being driven rationally from sound data and valid risk assessments, but rather by political and societal pressures.

To understand this requires more than just disparaging other people and pretending like you're better than them.

I think there are some very good points in this thread being made.

1. That these kids couldn't have gotten the vaccine
2. It's a VERY small percentage and not alarming.
3. It's a tragic scenario regardless point 1&2

I also would like to throw in the idea of where they contracted it. Does anyone know?

Well I did some searching and .. some forgive me facts are not being talked about. Odd I really have to dig.. odd they are not upfront about it.. that right there should speak volumes yet.. any way. I can't speak about what some families did or didnt do based on what the MEDIA says. I know they leave out so many facts so unless I can speak to them.. praise GOD they like every other American has a right to what they do..

Its really easy to talk about someone else's family. Facts as in pre-conditions. Yeah.. shocking to find out how many old and young had them.. the odd again is how that part is always left out.. hmm

Why the fixation with this variant? It's more contagious, not more deadly, meaning almost everyone will survive and a vast majority will have minor or no symptoms. Spooky.

What this shows is, we really need two Americas now. One for the ones scared to live life and will keep going with the fear agendas. And another for the ones who want to live life and just get out work make a living etc...

I'm curious what the statistical threshold for a large enough percentage to be alarming is, and if that cutoff is applied equally when evaluating risks from the vaccine itself.

I'm vaccinated. I'm not afraid to live life. I'm not living very differently from before the pandemic. But I'd like to avoid getting Covid while I'm living.
