  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ID is officially dead.

Education and learning about reality is never a bad thing.

Just learning what is needed to get by is an incredibly dangerous thing for society as a fundamental pillar of democracy is an educated and rational populace.

Should people pursuing a career as a gourmet chef be expected to learn vectors? I would say, it's almost weird, that many atheists are so belligerent on everyone being taught evolution, regardless of their career choices...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against teaching evolution myself. I enjoyed it, as someone who can appreciate all kinds of differences. But something tells me there's a bigger 'mission' in play.

Your conspiracy belief is noted.

Its wrong of course, as any educated rational person would know.

Well, I think any good psychologist could vouch that people naturally tend to want to influence others with what they believe... Or what they know...

It's human nature, as humans are a social species.

The theory of evolution is not a belief.

That's true. There are standards within the Sciences. But not everyone is into science.
College students who are not into science will take the least amount of science that they can, but if they learn that evolution is change over time through mutation and natural selection then they will know much more about evolution than creationists.

The theory of evolution is not a belief.

Its worse, its wrong science, evolution can't create conciousness and intelligence, biggest lie ever.
You need to know the world needs a excuse to discard God out of the creation process, they really need it, because they don't believe.

If you want to disprove the ToE write an article for peer-review. Fame, fortune and a place in all historybooks would be certain. Its every scientists wet dream to disprove a scientific theory.

If you cant, well, then your views dont matter.

Because scripture is a religious belief and has nothing to do with knowledge of physical reality.

Exactly. That's why I wrote belief, as well as knowledge... Because I'm a fair man. ;)

...The point was that everyone is eager to influence others. Whether through belief *or* knowledge. It doesn’t matter to the human mind.

There are both Christian and atheist evolutionists, just as there are Christians and atheists in all professional fields. There is no atheist requirement for affirming natural processes.

If you believe in an omni deity then you shouldn't limit that deity's ability to create natural processes to consciousness and intelligence.
