It's at least all those things. My point was that it was imprecise speech and so arguing one way or another of what he was actually saying doest have much weight to me.
It wasn't imprecise at all. Not unless we are expected to deal with a bizarre word game in which even the most common and well-understood expressions and terms are intentionally misunderstood.

A mention of peanut butter doesn't mean that we're saying the yellow stuff we put on our pancakes comes from ground-up peanuts. Nor does a mention of our "country" need explaining.

Time for us to move on.

I explained how it was imprecise and it is.

The problem with your frequent excusing of imprecise language (2016-2020) is you think you're right when you have absolutely no idea whether you're right or wrong because the speaker is vague and using simplistic unhelpful speech.

No, it isn't. The best we can say is that you took it the wrong way and this sometimes happens to all of us.

I EXPLAINED how it was imprecise. Repeating "no it isn't" is a nonsequitor if you don't address my arguments.

So without providing any meaningful support for your intellectually lazy position all I can really say is .

'Uncle Tim' slur against Tim Scott trends on Twitter after his Biden rebuttal

'Uncle Tim' slur against Tim Scott trends on Twitter after his Biden rebuttal

"Uncle Tim" trended on Twitter Wednesday night as left-wing users flooded the site with the racial slur on Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C, following his rebuttal to President Biden's address to Congress.

Scott, who is Black, declared the United States is not a racist country while noting he had encountered racism in his life. Some of it, he said, came from the left in the form of being called an "Uncle Tom," a derogatory phrase for Blacks who are viewed as too deferential to Whites.

His rhetoric infuriated some progressives, and Twitter placed "Uncle Tim" on its trending topics as more tweets relayed the insulting, racially charged play on his name. Among them was former MSNBC host Touré Neblett.

Cmments/thoughts?
It is to be expected from the left anytime a black man has a dissenting opinion. I was flat out called worse on this very forum because of my positions on black culture.

How is a Black person being called an Uncle Tom by other Black people racist?
Do you even know what an "Uncle Tom" is? Furthermore, nobody said anything about racism. The issue is the left's intolerance to dissenting thought. Especially in the black community. The most hateful slurs that has ever been said to me was by other black people.

...and it certainly hasn't been only Sen. Tim Scott. The knives were out for Rep. Allen West, Rep. Mia Love, and Herman Cain--all very successful people in the private sector before entering the political wars as Republicans.

So any evidence that contradicts that position would invalidate said position?
If it were that simple, the response you'll get is a denial that the evidence is valid. For instance, showing disparities, the argument will be something along the lines of those disparities should be there, therefore no racism exists. This is what conservatives tend to push to deny any discussion of racism; that's also why there is such a large focus on "culture", an argument that's been made since the days of Ida B. Wells.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that racism doesn't exist. But it appears as though the left's solution to racism is more racism. I am completely against that notion. The left will put me in the same category at Tim Scott. Call it what you want.

I never once said that racism doesn’t exist.

Here is an interesting article which shows that African immigrants in the United States do much better than native born black Americans. If systemic racism exists, this should not happen. This is evidence that what Tim Scott is saying is true.

African immigrants adapt well

So could it be a cultural thing then?

Imprecise speech?

Like....systemic racism, white supremacy, and my personal favorite "whiteness".

I don't think the left gets to whine about imprecise speech. When they say that this is a white supremacist nation and Tim Scott says we aren't a racist nation...

I think you know exactly what he's saying.

The problem is that you haven't shown disparity = racism.

In fact, we know you don't believe it.

If we bring up disparities between whites and asians....suddenly you'll find all sorts of reasons for those disparities that don't involve racism.
