Lawful gun owners are not actually the cause of crimeHe can try calling on congress for it, but it should be pointed out that the the same in the senate who just got done voting on Trump's case, are the same people who will be voting on any gun control laws.
And with the filibuster still in place, unless Democrats can win some republicans over to their side on the issue, it would be unlikely to even get to a vote in the Senate.
Another issue would be that not even all democrats are unified on it.
Joe Manchin & Jon Tester would be examples of more gun-friendly Democrats in the Senate
Then you have other democratic senators who support universal background checks and bumpstock bans, but that's basically as far as their overlap goes with other senate democrats.
Examples of that would be people like Paula Jean Swearengin
So, it's a slam dunk that a gun control bill will get through the house, but getting it through the senate would be another story. (especially considering you have a handful of democrats who don't support sweeping legislation, and they'd have the filibuster to contend with)
I mean, there are plenty of lawful gun owners right up to the point they commit crimes with them.Lawful gun owners are not actually the cause of crime
The world's woes are not all the fault of the NRA
Plenty of clean driving records right up to their first accidentI mean, there are plenty of lawful gun owners right up to the point they commit crimes with them.

Of course, some folks are "born guilty"
Of course that leaves out that cars are dangerous but not designed to take life, while guns are specifically designed to kill. Different levels of utility, and I don't get why people love trying to compare cars to guns.Plenty of clean driving records right up to their first accident
You think you will save Americans' lives on the roads, by revoking the licenses of every other American who has never had an accident? Punish 100,000,000 clean drivers for a comparable few others' misdeeds?
Do. the. crime.
Do. the. time.
Don't. do. any. crime.

If we used the gun lobby logic licenses to drive, insurance of vehicles and safety measures to mitigate the danger/damage of driving would all be shrieked about histrionically as violations of individual liberty. Funny how externalities are only important in relation to things that are out of favor.Plenty of clean driving records right up to their first accident

Still no acknowledgment that Stalin likely didn't say this?Acknowledged -- Stalin hated "ideas even more than guns" (not "guns more than ideas")

A good read; The Weimar Republic disarmed the people before the Nazis began their human right atrocities. As a German, I would encourage you to remember that. If the German people (ie: Jews, ethnic minorities etc) had the ability to defend themselves, there is an argument that Hilter would have not been able to commit the Holocaust in the first place

If 1930s Germany taught us anything, we need 2A more than ever and FORever
1) Which kills more Americans per year?Of course that leaves out that cars are dangerous but not designed to take life, while guns are specifically designed to kill. Different levels of utility, and I don't get why people love trying to compare cars to guns.
1) Guns actually. In 2019 about 37.8k people died from firearms related injury, while the same year about 36k died in car accidents.1) Which kills more Americans per year?
2) Guns protect people -- AR-15s are not the "weapon of choice" for burglaries, robberies, and muggings

They should be treated according to the US Constitutionbecause of that they should be treated differently then something which might be dangerous, but has as it's intended function something else.
