Possible Fix for Christianity and World Religions

I do not know if this idea would appeal to anybody, but here it is: Why not make Christianity and World Religions a hidden sub-forum like the pornography addiction sub-forum? CF members who are offended by the discussions in C&WR would not see those discussions, and search engines would not publicize those discussions.

why? you are an "agnostic" on a "Christian" forum, for those who wholeheartedly believe in the Living God of the Holy Bible! We are NOT ashamed in our Faith in Jesus Christ, THE Saviour of the human race. If you are indeed "agnostic", then what agreement do you have with this forum?

I've enjoyed my time here at CF. There are a lot of nice people - both Christian and non-Christian. When I joined CF 10 years ago I was a Christian with doubts and questions about paranormal experiences in my life. CF provided a safe and anonymous place to get ideas and advice. Even after I no longer could believe in the Nicene Creed, I still felt there was some truth in Christianity and things I could learn from Christians. CF has helped me quite a lot psychologically over the past 10 years, so it is sad to see that apparently coming to an end.

What is "coming to an end" ???

The Christianity and World Religions sub-forum has been closed. There are only a few remaining sub-forums on CF where non-Christians can participate. Most of these sub-forums are designed for arguments and debates - apologetics, politics, science, etc. C&WR was unique in providing a place for non-Christians and Christians to have non-adversarial discussions of religion.

I imagine that verses like the one you quoted were a consideration in closing C&WR, but I can only speculate. The announcement was pretty brief and didn't explain the staff's thinking in detail.

I just wanted to suggest this possibility of a hidden forum visible only to a subset of CF members who want to have non-adversarial religious discussions with non-Christians.

The majority of Christians stumble and are offended. They could never hope to understand what real hope is. To most Christians God is nothing more than a few words in a book.

I'm not certain if I can answer your question in this forum without violating some CF rules, but I am hoping to stay focused on fixing the C&WR sub-forum that has just been closed. Probably the staff of CF have made their decision about C&WR and that's the end of it, but I wanted to try.

Ack! I didn't know it had been closed. It's one of my favorite forums on CF. I missed the announcement of the closure -- is the closure permanent, or temporary, and was there a statement of the reason for the closure?

I strongly support a hidden C&WR forum, if that's the only way C&WR can exist.

If I could summarize in a few sentences then I would be happy to PM the reason, but it is difficult to pinpoint the reasons. I have sometimes asked myself what happened, and I can't answer.
