  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I have literally NO idea what's going on there. It's truly baffling.
  • Problem: OP struggles with lust (and porn). She entered the marriage in that state.
  • Excuse: No one understands my plight. I can't befriend women because they don't get it.
  • Response: Sin
Justification: I want to prove the problem exists by creating threads with content which leads me astray to make my point. And I'll throw my sex under the bus for good measure. I want to talk about it and I'm not getting the airplay I'm seeking.

That's like a junkie getting high to prove drug addiction is real.

Her peace lies in everyone's acknowledgment that both sexes have an equal level of urge. While it can be, it doesn't mean it's the norm. She is disturbed that it's not generally accepted and she loves to fight for it. So she is doing everything she can to find that peace, even posting photos to prove her point. She assumes most women are supposed to be feeling a similar level of excitement as her and it's no different from men's excitement when they see attractive women. If not, then it's abnormal and she is right in her lusting because no one can deny those men are attractive. I appreciate the beauty but it doesn't cause me to lust or get excited like it would be a struggle for a man not to. It’s a whole another level of feminism.

The stats from many studies prove otherwise. All such non-sense come from a lack of understanding and meditation on the Torah portion of the scripture and the science behind sexual hormones in both genders.

I actually (and rather oddly) had a dream about Bella last night. She was about 4ft 11, with big round Moomin eyes and spoke at 100mph whilst prancing around her house theatrically waving her arms around, saying: "express yourself boy! Express yourself!"

Sat atop of a mahogany desk was a plethora of antique wine bottles from the 1920's which had been strewn all over the place. In the far corner of the room, was a Queen Anne piano with a velveteen covered stall. Bella flashed her pearly whites, then thumped down onto the stall where she began to smash down on the keys vehemently. "I just love playing the piano" she said, before racing off over to the corner of the room to start a finger painting.

"You like to paint don't you?" She said with a zealous gasp (she was very excited at this point) and I just sort of stood there, nodding vacantly.

That's where the dream ended unfortunately. Maybe I'll have more for you tomorrow. (Weird right?)

And the thing is...

I REALLY don't think it's over. My dreams tend to run in a series (no, I'm deadly serious.)

Maybe you'll dream the little goblin's on your nightstand. You'll be seeing things like Meh.

My nightstand is a disgrace. I doubt the goblins would even be able to see me through the millpond of used glasses and spent betting slips.

I'm not sure about this. Reenacting Gandalf to drive out demons?

Out of curiosity, why not?

As someone who dealt with heavy warfare, I doubt Gandalf would do the trick. The ferocity of the spirit of racism gripping America will take more than that to hold it back. :)

Just as a counterpoint, Michael cast Satan from the heavenlies; though, as a counterpoint to that, Gandalf is a fictional representation of an angel.

Angels move on the authority of the Most High. There's no comparison. :)

Gandalf is not an angel. Nor did Tolkien write a Christian book. He addressed that many times. Nor is it an allegory. He loathed them. The story is drawn from his experiences in the war.

No, it is not an allegory, but his creation myth is a conscious reechoing of the Hebrew account; and, though the istari are not explicitly called angels, they fill a comparable role. Saying the story is drawn from his experiences in the war is as minimising as saying it is not an allegory; in addition, the legendarium draws from life experience, his Catholic faith, and, probably mostly, his academic interests.

Bella, I'm not trying to come down on you hard, but there is this tendency that takes Tolkien's statements about disliking allegory and applying it to his whole life, divorcing his devout faith from his work which was inextricably linked. There are many books tracing the amount of theology underlying Tolkien's work.
