CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am not sure what you mean by "undue attention". Plenty of things in life are not gendered. When I see a woman or a man being called Sam I don't think twice about it.

Do you think drawing undue attention to gender refers to anything that shouldnt be discussed here in too much detail? Im not trying to be crass-this is because its hard to explain what the gotquestions.org vagueness means.

If you dont totally agree with what I just said it supports what I said about distinct male and female/masculine and feminine faces.

What female Sam joke? I think it's kind hurtful that the woman gets called female Sam. Presuming there was a male Sam sitting at the lunch table that there need to be some distinction made. Now you're saying it's a joke so you made the story up?

I'll be honest I didn't really pay attention to this Dr. or Caitlyn Jenner.
Being androgynous can bring attention. I imagine women who wore jeans brought that, but overtime the image of women in jeans was natural and no longer brings attention. Something bringing attention doesn't make it bad either.

Why do you think? If you see something culturally that hasn't been broken it cannot help but be attention grabbing at first. If I wore high heels and went out side I'd get a lot of looks.. if I managed to persuade millions of men to do the same thing and give some time to adjust I would no longer receive looks.

I think it'd mainly be me wearing something traditionally worn by women. There might be some rebellious streak too it. Some rockers used to wear makeup and women's clothes for that reason. Or a Marylin Manson video that wants to look more unsettling and creepy, lol.
