Thank you Henry. I love your signature. It’s one of my favorites! :)

Wow, were you always compassionate? Or is it a gift in action?

Seriously? How’d that happen?

Yours in His Service,

~Bella

I really took a while to answer that question. I never really think of it in that way. I studied as a social worker although I am not practising in that field right now. I think it is a little of both; something I was born with and a gift.

When I was in school, a friend dared me to eat a whole apple and so I tried it and liked it. I have done it ever since. And apples are my favourite fruit.

You like physical touch and ice cubes. Okay Alex, you need more answers. :D
Physical touch: Odd as it may sound, the main thing I really want from a girlfriend is hugs. My other preferences are negotiable, but if I don't get hugs, the rest doesn't feel so genuine. This doesn't apply to friendships, just romantic attraction; quality time is the big one for friends.

Ice cubes? Well, you know, it's like ice cream, but if you don't want the milk, the chocolate, or anything that actually has flavor, it's the perfect health food snack!:D But seriously (ish), I saw a thing online that said, "Day 54 of quarantine. Tonight,

PS. You can answer seriously if you’d like. :)
Okee dokee, here we go!

Questions

What is your greatest strength?
Not sure. I'm good at music, diplomatic discussions, and listening. The part where I say something in return is not my skill, but if people need someone to just sit there & listen for awhile, I'm really good at that.

A funny habit nobody knows you have?
Well, if I tell you my funny habit that no one knows I have, then people will know I have it, and it will cease to be an accurate answer! Therefore, this is my answer:

Favorite pig out food?
Holy cookies. I really don't pig out on anything, but the only time I do is when my nun aunt's roommate makes these amazing chocolate chip cookies! We dubbed them "Holy Cookies", because they were made by a nun, and they taste heavenly!

Best thing you’ve learned/are learning about God?
He always takes us on journeys. I get frustrated sometimes, when I know & God knows full well that He can just bypass all the searching & seeking & just say "Here ya go!". But struggling with patience, particularly my long-running quest for a girlfriend, seeing my life as a story makes the long-running journey a lot more acceptable. But still frustrating. But that's part of the journey, too--onward!

When you’re feeling low; what cheers you up?
Good music, or bad music I can make fun of. Friends, of course. And making stupid ice cube jokes for strangers on the Internet is a pretty fun thing to do!

I would expect nothing less given your background. Are you counseling or did you move to a different field?

I have done some counselling. And I have worked in outreaches. There is a long story here, but I am unemployed right now. I am an amateur artist, painting with acrylic on canvas. So that is mostly what keeps me occupied.

What is your greatest strength? My greatest strength is being emotionally strong.

sunshine,

That's incredible. How did you develop the ability to be emotionally strong? Were you like that as a child or did it manifest over time?

What is your greatest strength?
Inventiveness

Miles,

We've discussed your creativity in the past. Are you generally inventive or more so in certain areas?

When you’re feeling low; what cheers you up?
Music, comedy, nature, and clean sheets of paper

Care to explain the clean paper reference? :)

I think its something I simply learned to be over time, most likely from being bullied alot and becoming emotionally tough as a coping skill.

Miles,

We've discussed your creativity in the past. Are you generally inventive or more so in certain areas?

It's more of a general thing. Making an impromptu video screen with a bed sheet and some boards without damaging the sheet, for instance, or designing meshes to simulate computer program features that don't quite exist yet. Although it isn't in my job description, I've become the go-to person for designing and fabricating brackets and connectors for projects at work. That sort of thing. I'm also musically creative, but I have no pretensions of ever "making it" in the music industry. Coming up with creative solutions to problems, or manipulating sights and sounds, is fun for me.

Care to explain the clean paper reference? :)

The paper reference is mostly a metaphor for new opportunities, but it's also true in the literal sense that I sometimes like to draw.

Do you play an instrument?
Yes! Trumpet is my main instrument, and I have a lot of hymns, a polka book, and a jazz book that I play from in my dorm. I did French horn for a semester in concert band. I have an electric bass that I'm learning how to play (blues, Black Sabbath, funk riffs, bossa nova, whatever seems fun!). I like to think I'm a drummer, but without having a drumset to regularly use, my rhythm's a little shaky, and my attempts to spell "rhythm" are even worse!^_^ If it wasn't for those red squiggly lines, I don't know what I'd do!

Basically, I just learn to play anything I can get my hands on. The exception is guitar; I tried to play guitar for awhile, but I could never get the hang of chords, and the strings were too close together. So, I got a 4-string bass, and I'm liking this a lot more!

URA,

That isn't odd at all. One of the members in our community enjoys cuddling. He admits it openly. :)

Interestingly enough, I'm the same. My love language isn't fulfilled through friends or family. It's something I want from my partner. But I value mutual growth and companionship with friends. People I can share my life with uninhibitedly. I suppose that would fall under quality time.

That's a valuable skill and you display it on the site. You're always calm and polite. Do you play an instrument?

I don't either. But if I couldn't have cheese I'd be pretty upset! The monastery I visited makes candy. It's delicious. I had a lot.

Oftentimes you don't realize how far you've come until someone points it out. I had this discussion earlier with my daughter and noted the change in mindset, priorities, and desires she's embraced during her walk with God.

She was determined to climb the corporate ladder and now she's self-employed and works from home. Her greatest desire is to marry, have a family, and homeschool. But she didn't get there overnight.

The companion you seek is being molded by God as are you. I've experienced His shaping and direction on this subject. He brought me to a place of surrender much deeper than I've known. The things I didn't understand or rejected out of ignorance are viewed with a clearer perspective. It takes time to reach the point where you'll accept His best and won't be swayed by enticements. You'll have many.

Yours in His Service,

~Bella
I don't have any particular reply to the rest of your post, but I want to let you know that I appreciate it all. Your words are always kind & helpful, Bella, and I'm very grateful that you're on this site.

Thanks Anthony. :)

I didn’t know you like crawfish. I’m impressed.

I’m surprised carving didn’t make the list. It looks relaxing.

Yours in His Service,

~Bella

PS. Thank you for commenting on the other thread.
Oh yes, I'm a fan of anything crayfish-related. :yum: I really enjoy boils, etoufee, and bisque, especially if it has a slight kick to it lol.

Carving might be a great hobby to pick up, actually, and could be an almost meditative experience. Someone once gave my dad a hand-carved figurine of Mary holding the baby Jesus, and it was very impressive; it almost motivated me to try it out myself. I don't think it's overly expensive to get into, but may take some time to get good at. Maybe I can try it out myself and see.

No problem, glad to contribute. :)

Tone,

We know you're busy taking selfies. Don't deny it. :p

Okay, update:

Quality time -30%

And there were two 23% for runner up. One was words of affirmation and whatever is directly under it in the list.

I think it was pretty balanced between all of em.

Yaaaay!
