The day we are saved........the very day before, what were we doing?
Were you living for God the day before you were saved?
NO.
You were enjoying SIN.
What does this tell us?
It tells us that on Saturday we are sinning and enjoying it, and on our way to HELL. John 3:36

Then the very next day...THe VERY....>NEXT DAY.....We hear the Gospel, we kneel at the Cross and are BORN AGAIN. We have become "the righteousness of GOD in Christ".
We are "MADE RIGHTEOUS".... We have BECOME as RIGHTEOUS AS GOD's Righteousness that God has given us as "the Gift of Righteousness".

So, between Saturday when you were going to hell, and Sunday when you became a Believer, did you do any RIGHTEOUSNESS?

= YOU DID NONE.

YET IN ONE INSTANT YOU WENT FROM Sinner to SAINT, from Hell bound to ETERNAL LIFE, from Lost to SAVED, from Christ Rejector to Child of God.
That is in an INSTANT. = Born again.

So, that Righteousness that you became, that God gave you, because you gave Him your faith, and "faith is counted as Righteousness".....This is the same Righteousness that God has, and you received it in an INSTANT.
You woke up the next morning on Monday and you are STILL the "righteousness of God in Christ".
"made Righteous".

And 50 yrs later you are the same as you were the vert instant you went from Saturday sinner to Sunday BORN AGAIN, 50 yrs earlier.
And if you are born again TODAY or 50 YRS ago, you are still the same "righteousness of God in Christ" because God MADE YOU THIS, or He would have never accepted you as His OWN..... or kept you.

It took me 15 months from the time I was born again (Dec '72) to the time I made a conscious 'yes' decision for Christ. (Mar '74)
I lived just as terrible those 15 months as I did the previous months (even worse at times); since my rebirth (Dec'72) it was a slow cleaning process. And since saying yes to Jesus (Mar '74), I never looked back.

.

You clearly do not understand the concept of God "drawing"
us to Christ. In fact I did not read past the first paragraph
because you demonstrated your lack of understanding
before the end of the first paragraph.

From a general standpoint, we know that NO MAN can come
to Christ unless the Father first "draws" them. And ALL MEN
the Father draws "shall come" to Christ.

So (generally speaking) before we are "indwelt" God first "draws"
us. We become interested is reading the Bible. We realize how
righteous God is and how totally depraved we are. We realize
that we DESERVE to go to hell. And then we begin BEGGING
God to have mercy on us.

This process could be quick (like the thief on the Cross) but
normally the process takes weeks or months (or years) before
we get to the point seeing how much we deserve to go to hell
and BEGGING God for mercy.

I make no judgment on whether YOU have experienced this
process but your first paragraph indicated (to me) that you
totally lack understanding on what's involved in the process.

Now it is true that many teach we are saved by saying the
"sinner's prayer" or by making an altar call or by receiving
water baptism or by repenting of some sins or by "inviting"
Jesus into our hearts... or by any number of other WORKS.
But generally speaking that is a false "works gospel" that
does not result in real salvation. Remember the parable
of the sower... only the good ground produces "fruit".

Luk 18:13
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much
as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying,
God be merciful to me a sinner.

If you do not mind me asking... what in the world made you
think you were "born again" in December 1972 when you did
not even make a "yes decision" (much less ACT like a Christian)
until March 1974?

My Bible says the IMMEDIATE "fruit" of salvation is sanctification.
Some thirty-fold, others sixty-fold and some one hundred-fold.
Whereas those NOT producing "fruit"...

I am not suggesting you are not saved NOW.
I am suggesting you were NOT saved in 1972.

You are something else.
You KNOW that is not you in the picture right?
Do you now bestow blessings? Rather say God bless you.
But this is just my opinion... I could be wrong.

Rev 22:8-9
And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had
heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the
angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me,
See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy
brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings
of this book: worship God.

Fruit doesn't always come immediately especially if you have been mired deeply in the occult and drugs, drinking, gambling etc. Rebirth is first conceived but it takes time for the infant to be delivered.
A person just doesn't decide on the spot for Christ but it takes prepartory work of the Spirit convicting of sin and revealing that God actually has a Son let alone die for our sin.
I had absolutely no Church background growing up being raised in an atheist household.

God "draws" the unbelievers to the Cross.
This is the work of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit enlightens the unbeliever when they hear the Gospel.
The feel a conviction a "drawing" a leading, a "come home" type of reaction within themselves.
Some do receive Christ and others resist this "drawing'.

My question was simple, but you never answered it.
Again, what in the world makes you think you were
born again in December 1972?

The one is the painting , is an artist's representation of Jesus The Christ, shown after His resurrection.
Beautiful Painting.

You apparently did not READ my words or did not comprehend.
Your comment about God drawing the saved is a pathetic
strawman since I never suggested such a thing.

Why do you construct strawmen? It does not prove anything
except (a) you cannot provide an honest response or
(b) you cannot comprehend what was written.

Here is my post again. Focus hard on the words I wrote.
And then respond to MY WORDS. That is how a "discussion"
works. I hope that is not "news" to you.

You said (and I quote)

Were you living for God the day before you were saved? NO.

A changed heart, that slowly went from mocking God to embracing God, and opened spiritual eyes that began understanding the truths of God through Scripture and ears that began discerning truth from error.

You can play 'gotcha' with doctrine but not another's testimony, lest you end up looking foolish.

Write something worth my comprehension, and you'll get a result.

Also, can you comprehend this ???? (See below).

rawing the saved is a pathetic
strawman since I never suggested such a thing.

And i guess you also didn't "hear it", when Jesus said, "if i be LIFTED UP, i will draw all men to myself"..

So, are you familiar with the term "alter call"?

It seem you are not familiar with a lot you need to know.

First... I was not "playing gotch", I asked the question because
the BIBLE says people who are "born again" show the "fruit"
of sanctification and YOUR TESTIMONY was that you spent
two years living as bad (or worse) than before.

So it is not ME that is looking foolish.
You are the one who said you did not repent
AFTER you were "born again".

As I said before, I am not questioning your salvation BUT
your "testimony" does not harmonize with what the BIBLE
teaches about the sanctification that follows conversion.

There is no verse in the New Testament that says..>"the born again will show the Fruit of Sanctification".

So, did you want to make anything else up today?

But let me give you a verse. "Jesus is become our righteousness and our Sanctification".

1 Corinthians 1:30

So, if we are born again, Jesus is our Sanctification.

Once again you demonstrate (for all to see) that you have
NO IDEA what the Gospel teaches...

I am so embarrassed FOR YOU because even "babes in Christ"
understand the "fruit" of being "born again" is sanctification as
we "grow in Grace"...

I wonder why this is "news" to you?
Have you NEVER read these SCRIPTURES before?
Now that I have provided these Scriptures FOR YOU
do you REJECT them or accept them?

Mat 13:8
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Mar 4:20
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

1Th 4:3
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

1Th 4:4
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

2Th 2:13
But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

1Pe 1:2
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

So your (private) "interpretation" of that verse is that ALL MEN
are saved?

Because Jesus also said this:

Joh 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me
draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Either you do not understand the CONTEXT of the verse you
cited (all men = all the elect) or Jesus was LYING when he said
He would save ALL MEN the Father draws.

Was Jesus LYING... or are you confused?
It must be one or the other.

Joh 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me
;
and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Joh 6:39
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Jesus would strongly disagree!

John 6:44No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Last I knew, "no one" has no exceptions. I'm curious, what is your theological position/alignment? I ask, because Calvinism would say the drawing is the very means that God uses to irresistibly call the Elect to salvation, and your comments would indicated that you would disagree with such a notion, so I'm curious as to where you are on the theological spectrum.
