So long as you are not part of the larger problem, your "opinions" are just fine for you to hold.

I never asked quite honestly. Do you know why?

Absurd. If you wish to question the numbers at least do so in a rational and honest manner.

I have provided direct documentation from CDC. Spare me.

Give an example.

No. :p

So you think healthcare experts don't know how antibodies and viruses work? They should definitely CALL YOU ASAP so you can "set 'em straight!"

These experts documented it themselves.

I think we can agree that people doing stupid things doesn't help. BUT by your reasoning if someone does something stupid with a seat-belt by, say, wearing it wrong, it would give them a false sense of security but they'd still be in danger. So does that mean seatbelts are bad?

This is totally different. We have world renowned scientist and professionals pushing an issue that will not help save a single life. They know this. They know full well a N95 cannot stop this virus from being inhaled nor exhaled. So even with a mask on, you need to remain 6 feet away from each other. Then what is the mask for?

You are at just as much risk with it on, as if it was off. Accept, some have the false security of wearing it.

Well, this is why laws and restrictions are made! To get the most intransigent people who think their opinion is superior to the majority of experts in the field to do the right thing!

Laws? Don't remember this legislation passing. But I do have a Mom.

And it sounds like you also know the good stuff to do with regards to re-use of the mask and social distancing, etc.

Been in far too many managerial roles concerning PPE's is my guess. I was the guy that bored you to death with the dreaded safety meetings. I was also a responder for environmental emergencies for the county utilities I worked at. 99.99% of the time hurricanes. You still got to check valves and turn screws even in hurricane force winds. Had a 72-inch diameter pipe blow out once. It was the year we had 3 hurricanes back to back.

Methinks you are probably grossly oversimplifying the situation. As others have noted there is a significant "probability" aspect as well as other factors like droplet entrainment, surface tension of droplets, etc.

Sorry, but no. Filtration is simply capturing suspended solids or gases in the air. In water it is your turbidity, TSS and TDS are caught by a medium and removed improving clarity. The finer the medium, the greater the filtration. The same medium will not filter at the same efficacy, as other mediums. This is why you can have multi media cartridges that filter different contaminates and particulates in the same filter. In water you get into surfactants and what not, but it is the same principle with minerals or what have you in a respirator. You could get a cartridge as an example that is exactly like a counterpart 'normal P100' except it absorbs hydrocarbons because of a breathable chemical in its membrane.

It just doesn't work that way. If it did one filter would filter all, but it doesn't.

Oh, of course. Makes one wonder why other forms of filtration even exist. All one has to do is put something over their mouth and van der Waals forces and surface tension filter everything.
A simple "no" would have sufficed.

I don't believe you.

Sorry. No personal offense to YOU...I just prefer to get my science from scientists.

None taken, but that is why I post screenshots (that cannot be edited text) directly from the source CDC or what have you and cite them with a link.

Oh, yeah, sorry, 137,000 dead Americans who actually FELL OUT OF TREES but the Marxists in the CDC decided they'd destroy Capitalism by labeling those tragic tree-fall deaths as "COVID".

Don't forget the guy who chocked on a lollipop while wrestling that bear...

Sorry, didn't mean to offend.
I'm not offended. You just don't appear to understand how something being suspended in a liquid changes the filtration requirements. I thought you did based on our earlier conversation, but you keep going back to the size of the physical virus particle, which is irrelevant to the filtration needs since they're almost universally suspended in liquid droplets.

I don't think it's quite as straightforward when you are working on the microscopic scale vs say a kitchen collander.

And even so, if you breathe on a cold colander, you're going to see condensation. Wonder how that happens?

@Sparagmos

Incidence (annual) of Common cold:
62 million cases (NIAID); 23.6 per 100 (NHIS96); estimated 1 billion colds in the USA annually; Children get 6-10 yearly, adults 2-4 yearly; over 60's less than 1 a year.

So... at estimated 20% of common colds coming from a coronavirus, that means over those 10 years 2,000,000,000 cases of the cold came from one of the 4 coronavirus that infect humans. There is currently 330 million people alive in America. That's six times overkill...

So, if the CDC states they are including these antibodies tests in their covid-19 findings... who in America is likely to not have antibodies present? Taco, almost everyone will test positive.

I cited the stats I'm using directly from the CDC right here.

You're not saying people would test positive, i'm saying "chances are, almost everyone will test positive".

Either your grasp of the English language isn't as strong as you think it is, or you're being deliberately disingenuous.

Your response is either in error, or a straw man. For some reason you included the definitive 'would' in there as if I made a statement.

People aren't testing positive at the rate you would expect if your theory was correct. Your theory isn't bourn out by the facts. Chances are you're full of it.

We do not know how many have died. Why can you not understand the concept of inflated numbers comingled with other data? Same goes with active cases.

we understand that, you guys can't comprehend 12k extra deaths a week came from something, best you guys have is handwaving or ignoring it yet again.

Oh, so that means everything gets caught no matter how fine or tight the media is. No reason for MERV or NIOSH/PFE testing.

Going to Walmart to grab some paper towels to tape to my face...

Yeah, chances are...

That's a hard one to figure out ain't it?

Either your grasp of the English language isn't as strong as you think it is, or you're being deliberately disingenuous.

What's this English thingy?

I don't have a theory. The CDC admits they are conflating multiple findings in their covid-19 counts, and have been caught mixing antibody testing for other coronaviruses with diagnostic testing for covid-19 that is boosting the active cases.

Why go to Walmart when you could just stick that strawman on your face and be done with it?

That is why Trump, by the HHS, is counting death certificates against covid death reports.
