Yes, the CDC has made a lot of corrections.
Would you rather they didn't?

In a perfect, ideal world, everything would always be right the first time and no one would ever need to correct anything. But this is not a perfect, ideal world. People make mistakes. And personally, I feel a heck of a lot better when people acknowledge their mistakes and correct them.

Your argument is political.....my argument is based upon science.
My argument is not political, it's moral and it's backed by scientific facts. As for your argument being based on science, that's incorrect. Science is not a 3-month-old YouTube video from a local TV station in Australia showing yet another YouTube video of an unknown person playing with aerosol cans and showing absolutely nothing.

Masks work in reducing the spread of particles that in turn spread coronavirus, as we've been told by actual science/doctors/experts, so they greatly reduce the spread of coronavirus. Your video doesn't refute that one bit and your video is far from actual science.

If you want to walk into a store with no shoes or a shirt...have at it.
And this is how I know your argument is actually political. Your arguments are only concerned about masks but not shirts and shoes. The only reason for that is politics - shirts and shoes are not being challenged by conservatives but masks are, so your argument falls in line with the politics.

That article is from May 21. The CDC had since corrected the mistake, and antibody tests are being reported separately.

Man... I wish I could do that. All you have to do is make a simple comment, provide no substantiation and people like your post.

Let's also not take into account people have been ignoring this since May. Not the only post, article, or report. And the numbers are inflated.

March, April, May, June, July..... Someone is having trouble keeping up with things.

It's just my point that things change. And the president has changed with it as far as guidance is concerned. We don't always know what's right or what's best. Who knows we may find out in a few months that masks don't really help.

Yet you don't give the same consideration when dealing with the president. I guess he should have seen the future and totally ignored what he was being told by the experts from the beginning?

You can obviously see how things CHANGE. So I don't get why we are so hard on the president for doing what the experts advised at the time.

When things are changing.

Given the America's frontline healthcare workers have made wearing masks standard procedure for years, one would expect that at least they be given the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise!

The Alabama Governor has announced that masks must be worn in public, while both Walmart and Sam's Club are providing their customers with advanced notice that masks will now be required in all stores!

I'm not arguing against masks. I have no issue right now with businesses requiring masks. It their business. I will wear one.

What, exactly, are you referring to? Where have I not given the same consideration to Trump? My criticisms of him with regards to his handling of the coronavirus are entirely related to his continued refusal to listen to the experts.

That's not what Fauci said. Fauci said Trump did what the experts advised him to do, Everytime. He also said if the experts told him not to do something he didn't. So Trump did listen.

Those articles are a bit misleading. While it's true that some of the facilities weren't reporting all of the negative results and others were suffering from data lag, all that does is increase the rate of positive cases. The number of positive cases is still accurate.

Not True. From one of the articles.

After June 20, the state had several skyrocketing case days approaching 10,000 "new" cases; the number of event-date cases on those days was lower sometimes by 25%. On the state's highest-charting day so far, July 4, officials posted around 11,400 cases; the "event date" metric indicates a little over 8,000 cases on that day, about 30% less than the figure posted on the dashboard and cited in nationwide media outlets.

So they haven't reported accurately.

Rolls eyes.

The bottom line....place the country and world into panic...lock you down...destroy the economy...then allow the New World Order to take over....like your bible says is going to happen.

This may or may not be a precursor to the White Horse in Revelation...perhaps its practice, but it's coming.
Maybe, if people would behave we wouldn't need multiple shutdown. Wear mask and social distancing ,multiple hand wash. The United States is supposed to be the best country in the would. At least I was brained washed to believe this. But we are doing the worst job stopping COVID-19. because bad leadership and grown-ups, that are supposed to good models aren't.

Citation? Because I can recall several times that experts said to do (or not do) something and Trump didn't listen. As a very recent example, the CDC gave guidelines for schools to reopen. Trump decided he didn't like them, so now they're being re-written.

They're all real cases though, right? I'm pretty sure everyone is aware that the number of new cases reported on a given day doesn't represent the number of people who were tested that day. Labs have backlog. All numbers are preliminary, as they are for every state and have been for this entire crisis. This is nothing new.

Psychopathic traits linked to non-compliance with social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic linked
“One potential implication from this research is that there may be a minority of people with particular personality styles (on the narcissism and psychopathy spectrum) that have a disproportionate impact on the pandemic by failing to protect themselves and others.”

The study has been peer reviewed and accepted for publication in the journal Social Psychology and Personality Science. It is currently available on the PsyArXiv preprint website.

That's not iconsequential since about 5 percent of the population could be psychopaths. And that's enough to be a substantial group of superspreaders.

All those people will respond to is social pressure and the threat of fines and jail time.

I'd also imagine the levels of malignant narcissism is even higher, but I don't know the exact statistics. It's probably on the order of 10 percent of the population.

I saw a great comment/meme on youtube yesterday

If you have a problem with a mask, you're going to just love a ventilator

And now we are finding out that Florida has been over inflating the COVID cases.

Florida hospital admits its COVID positivity rate is 10x lower than first reported
The investigation failed to mention 2 key points, what was the magnitude of the number of cases being inflated and what are the current statistics for Florida after being adjusted to correct the error?

Given that this article appears more interested in reporting the error than providing the reader with the corrected data, one suspects that the errors associated this hospital had a relatively small impact on the final totals!
