Moving Into Summer

We are nearly into UK Summer,June,July,August are the seasonal months for Summer meterologically. Same dates each year. Astronomically Summer starts on 20 June 2020 to 22 September 2020. Roll on Summer!

When it gets too hot, it's a no for me. This week has been very hot I think.

Currently for this summer, I have a plan A and a plan B.
If we still remain in lockdown over the summer, plan A is to use my ordinance survey map to do cycle and walking routes across the local area. My walking maps cover most of South Staffordshire and Shropshire including footpaths, bridle paths, and towpaths I have never discovered before.
If the lockdown is lifted, plan B is to spend a weekend away, firstly over on the Welsh Coast around Barmouth - possibly in a B&B and also to take the train down to my hometown (Exeter) for a few days.

The Florida hurricane season used to start on June 1. According to one source it has started two weeks early for the past eight years. We’ve had two named tropical storms already this year. We get rains and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening during the hurricane season. The season lasts until Nov. 30. Then we entered the cooler dry season with risk of brush fires in the late spring. Florida is the lightening capitol of America. There were many flowering bushes and trees in the spring.

Midsummer day is less than 3 weeks away.
After then, the daylight hours will start to reduce again.
But no need to worry, because the shortening of the days happens slowly at first and escalates a little more towards the end of August. So the long daylight hours will still remain with us for quite a while even after 21 June.
