Now one thing I hadn't thought of when formulating this thread was the obvious example of say a rich woman or man providing a life for you that you couldn't otherwise. That's at least one example where on one hand your life would indeed be better at least in some objective or at least material way, but on the other hand could be overall worse because you could be miserable because maybe you just don't like the person. Theres also a few other questions that immediately come to mind which are should you go with someone you love who makes your life worse, should you go with someone you may or may not love but who makes your life better is todays question though.
I didn't quite realize when i discovered this question last night that what area of our life we are talking about when we say better isn't obvious. However by better I meant overall. This of course means that your happiness could technically go down yet you receive benefits in many other areas of your life that you deem to make it worth the decrease in happiness for example.
