Pelosi Says Democrats Have ‘Pulled Back a Veil’ on Trump’s ‘Unacceptable’ Behavior

While opinions like this capture our attention the back story is routinely ignored.

If the Democratic Party and their voters hadn't elected Barack Obama for president Donald Trump would never have appeared on the political horizon. Trump is a direct result of the failed policies of eight years of Obama.

The title is also interesting, as Trump actually pulled back the curtain on the Biden's shady dealings.

I believe Trump was an answer to FAR more than Obama, he was an answer to a couple of decades of trying to compromise with those on the left, which ended up moving the entire party further left with each passing year.

The republicans had been led around by the nose until there was little to no difference between the two parties in action (even though the words were different, the actions were definitely bi-partisan)

Trump was people answering to that, we simply couldn't have the necessary momentum against it until people saw with their own eyes what they were doing and had done.

If we don't stand somewhere, then we won't withstand all we claim to oppose...

I think you're right. And I also think that if the Democrats and media hadn't rigged the 2016 primary, Trump wouldn't have even been the nominee.

I firmly believe that Trump was seen as the Republican candidate least likely to beat Hillary, and that the Democrats did all they could do to help him win the GOP primary.

Because who would have ever thought Trump could have won in November? Not me.

It is true that Trump had complained about government policies for many years. Maybe Obama was the last straw.

Obama was a good portion of the nation's last straw. If we keep a compromising attitude we will be destroyed completely.

Trump was the people's warning sign to our politicians, and Trump was happy to be that at great cost to himself.

After this, hopefully they got the picture and will start representing our nation's interests more in tune to being representative of the people. Republicans seem to have gotten the point anyway, so I have hope.

Democratic party leaders have lost the plot altogether.

Trump admitted that he wanted his candidacy to reveal the dissatisfaction of the American people with the status quo. He never thought about actually winning until he found himself...winning.

True, but without the help of the people most of the well-intended policies will fail.

So all this Russia hysteria and fabricated evidence Trump was a paid for spy for Russia and the whole made up false narrative of Schiff and Ukraine is to get Trump because he has "unacceptable behavior." Thought so, that means the whole impeachment fiasco was about impeaching Trump based on "Orange man bad."

I'm still trying to figure out what the problem with investigating the Biden's was if there was nothing inappropriate going on. An 'investigation' can also reveal good things as well as bad. Investigations, by nature, are open ended. The Dems spared no effort to dig up dirt on candidate Trump.

I wrote here at CF quite a few times as a then Ted Cruz supporter that Trump may get the nomination but had no clear plan for a general election campaign. That he would not have the ground game that Hillary had (actually inherited from Obama). I was wrong. But you and I were not alone:

I was a Cruz supporter in the primaries as well. I don't know a single Christian who was actively practicing the faith in 2016 that supported Trump in the primaries. Most of those I know who voted for him in the fall did so simply because he wasn't Hillary.

I didn't have much hope that he would turn out to be a good president. He proved me wrong. When I vote for him this year it will be the first time ever.

The problem with the pre-Trump Republican party was that it got its votes and it's funding from widely disparate sources. Most of their funding came from people who culturally have more in common with the Clintons than with the average Republican voter. If it did actually did what its voters wanted, it's funding would dry up. That's why GOP was ineffective until Trump. It was precisely because Trump is a billionaire that he could do what ordinary Republican voters wanted. He didn't need the donors.

Admin Announcement - An Announcement regarding the Political and News forums: The names of the two main political parties are the Republican party (RNC) whose members are Republicans, and the Democratic Party (DNC) whose members are Democrats. It is not the "Democrat" party. The use of Democrat party was started as a pejorative term and was meant to be derogatory. (see this).

Continuing to use the pejorative can result in removal of the offending posts.

The term "Democratic" fits them to a tee, and is actually more revealing than the term "Democrat".

I'm wondering just what these failed policies were that led us back from the worse recession, since the Great Depression, to setting records in the Stock Market.

So, now Democrats rigged the Republican primary?

Not "rigged" it per se. But I believe many Dems crossed over and voted for Trump in the primaries in the states they were able to do so, not because they liked him as a candidate, but they liked him as an opponent.

I also believe mainstream media attacked other candidates- Cruz, Carson, Kasich, Rubio- until after Trump had secured the nomination, before they let loose on him. (The big exception being Megyn Kelly, who also wasnt included in the MSM.)

So, this was only your opinion, which you have facts to back it up.

Since when wasn't Megyn Kelly mainstream media? Fox is mainstream.

I'm not so sure about that. The reason I've always left the "ic" off of democrat is because their party is not very democratic anymore. It is becoming more left with each election, and now we even see "Independents" like Bernie Sanders fitting in quite nicely with that party even though he calls himself a Socialist. They seem to accept that title as being fitting for someone running on the democrat ticket. What if he wins? It would only bring the party even further to the left--so much that the party would need to adopt a new name.
