Imagine this statement:

The global population of rhinoceroses has drastically changed in the past without humans hunting them, and this could happen again; therefore, the current trend of diminishing numbers of rhinos has nothing to with humans shooting them in large numbers.
Don't have to imagine it; I just think of woolly mammoths. They died off with little interaction with man. Some species simply die off without our help.....

Google 'Yellowstone Cauldera'. It's a super volcano right in the heart of the USA that is millennia overdue for an eruption. They are fracking the snot out of the overlaying rock. Trump may not have to take us down. We may be all blown up, or worse have to deal with the aftermath.
LOL..... "Trump may not have to take us down"...

You mean the lowest unemployment rates and booming economy are "taking you down"?

Actually, just watch the Schiff show, now in the Senate... Those that are representing the Dems.. are what is making the US a laughing stock.. and "taking you down"....

Between Greta and Gore... and Schiff and Pelosi.... Who needs reality shows... Great sit coms....

They are not fracking within 80 miles of the caldera. Volcanic eruptions are more likely during periods of minimum sunspot activity on the sun.

I'm not worried about any of that. Nor am I worried about some clock, controlled by men and women.

God is in control. The only clock that matters is His clock.

Worried about temperatures rising without an endpoint... well, stop....

I was worried when the leaves fell off all the trees... But.. they grew back. The sun comes up every morning. The climate is cyclic.

Two other things will never change as well... People will lie to people to take their money.. and... there will always be fools who believe them and stand up for their lies.
I saw global warming is real and tried to reduce fuel consumption. It is not as if I can break anything I want and God will always fix it for me.

Not the point. The experts have an evidence-based case that we are responsible. Obviously the climate might have changed without man’s intervention. But the experts have evidence that this change is not natural. To think they have made this obvious error that you think they have made is stupefyingly silly.

This is really all about the utterly moronic belief that we know better than the experts.

Look: the scientists could be wrong , I have never stated otherwise. But for people to lie about what the current understanding is, or believe they know better than the experts, is utterly preposterous.

Agree. Thank goodness someone is using their thinker. As you know, there are some evangelicals who believe that, yes, we can screw the planet up to our heart’s delight because God will sort it all out in the end. Even if God will rescue us, do you think He will pleased that we have trashed His creation?

Oy, what passes for reason on this site. Next thing is we will have people saying the earth is flat. No, wait......

I believe that they froze to death during an ice age. If only Al Gore had been there to blow his hot air; maybe they could have been saved.

It does not matter what Al Gore says. The experts- not Al Gore - say we have a problem.

It would be stupid for someone to argue thus:

1. Al Gore believes climate change is human-caused.

2. Al Gore is not a climate expert and has all sorts of motivations to twist truth.

3. Therefore, climate change is not, or likely not, human-caused and a big problem.

Points 1 and 2 are correct. Anyone who thinks point 3 follows from 1 and 2 needs to go back to high school.

I'm practicing regenerative agriculture. What are you doing to work as a wise steward of our heavenly Father's garden? Surely I hope that you are not waiting for a politician to do your job for you.

I was very careful not to declare that you were necessarily making the patently dumb argument I described. Given the wonky thinking of deniers on this site, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if some think that way.

I have the most fuel efficient car on the market, as far as I know. And I do some other things, such as minimizing air travel. Could do more, of course.

There is a made up device that proports to measure something unmeasurable and some gullible people decide to believe in it as if it actually measured something. I hardly see that as being a valid argument for the rest of us to engage in self deception .

Don't be so alarmed about your car. The amount of carbon that my regenerative agriculture practices pulls from the atmosphere, should have you covered. However I flatly refuse to travel by air. If you feel that you must travel by air; perhaps you can persuade Al Gore to share his private jets with you, you know, carpool so to speak. I understand that you might feel that the world might come to an end so soon; and that your time here is so valuable; that it is imperative that you get to your destination at jet speed; but perhaps you can grant the rest of us dumb dumbs a little more time, by taking steps to minimize the pollution that you're thrusting at us with jet action.

What Al Gore does personally has nothing to do with the question in this thread. And you surely know that bringing this up only lowers the caliber of the debate.

I do not think it is likely the world will come to an end soon.

And I stand by my post - anyone who believes that global warming is not human-caused because Al Gore believes otherwise needs to have their head examined (or go back to school).

Phsew! Good news! I guess we can abandon these talks of a carbon tax.

Back to school....hmm...that sounds fun!

Do you know where I can take a good course on the subject of Milankovitch Cycles?

My argument stands.

You wouldn’t be trying to evade the force of my argument and otherwise score cheap points by trying to impress us with your credentials, would you?

If Milankovitch cycles are a thing, and I do not doubt that they are, surely the experts know about them.

My argument stands.

I wasn't aware that you had presented an argument, well at least not a logical one; but your presentation of logical fallacies has been abundant.

I gather that you are attempting to present a logical argument for Anthropological Global Warming.

Maybe I can help you.

First, learn how to present a logical argument.

Let me know when you have that part figured out; and then maybe we can share a rational discussion.
