yeah, I think people are trying to outlaw fossil fuels, and you can't do so without damaging the economy. If anything just make the coal plants update their emissions, which they may have already done, not sure. Fossil fuels account for 80% of the worlds electricity, hydro accounts for another ten or so and I think clean fuel is like less than 10 or 5%. So it's really in it's infancy and most countries have not got serious about it. But I like that tesla has some good battery cells and if we can get that technology in a cheap fashion that that is good. But people don't know that the process to make batteries is very chemically dirty. There is a city in china or japan that makes batteries for windmills etc, and they are all deformed and have cancer due to the chemicals. Our government would not allow us to make these batteries in the US, so we basically poison the chinese instead. So even clean energy is not clean. We need to do better. We are not even close to providing cheap alternative energy. I think it was germany or somewhere that had manditory solar and wind power, and their power cost went up 60%. You will have to watch the "moral case for fossil fuels I posted earlier for better details" it's been a year or so since I watched it.
