Whenever I go to restaurants and bakeries, they toast the bread too dark for my taste. Does anyone else feel this way?

I never really get toast.

My toast always comes perfect and light, though dry.
About 45 seconds is too much cooling time for me.

I used to eat toast a bit but I dont have it very much at all now since ive cut back on bread.
I've never eaten toast out.
I've never eaten out for breakfast either.
When I do have it, I like it toasted medium and cold.
Yes, I know that sounds weird, I put it in the fridge to cool and that way it doesn't go soft when it cools ( I hate that). If you leave it out to cool it goes soft.
I don't like the butter to be melted in, which a lot of people seem to like.

Wait a minute...is this one of those psychological testing threads?

On this picture, I like toast #9, can tolerate #6, but nothing darker.

I don't eat toast often, but, when I do...I think I'll have it pretty dark since I heard that the charcoal on the toast is good for food poisoning...or just upset stomachs in general.

No (lol). Which number is your preference, Tone?

I'm not sure, I think i'd like to try the entire spectrum.

*Maybe this is why I don't eat toast much...hard to decide...I wouldn't want everyone at the table to stare at me as I mulled it over...

One goes out the window and even the dog wont eat it.

Two I cover with marmite so my wife wont know.

Three to seven passes.

Eight and nine lacks crispness and I am asked to make another lot...
