I’ve had a lot of problems for a while which some of you probably know. Also for many years I’ve drifted in and out of church as I feared my salvation but then for periods didn’t seem to do anything about it.
I find it hard to care about people and have empathy. But I have the thoughts “Do I care about what’s written in the bible and do I believe what it says?” and the answer is yes. When I hear about all the prophecies coming true I think it’s very special. And when the bible says Jesus died and rose again I’m like “I believe this” and I believe the things the bible says about Jesus.

So while I was feeling this way I told Jesus I believed in Him and asked Him to forgive me and help me with my faith.

But even though I believe in Him I still today and like many other times before, don’t seem to dwell and think about it a lot.
I do believe in the Bible and Jesus and I fear the 2nd coming of Jesus. How can I get very strong faith and have a real relationship with Him so I really know he’s with me and is my friend.

I’ve asked Him if he can take away my back pain which I’ve had for 2 years and is getting worse. Maybe in the future I can ask Him to help with me with some other problems. But He doesn’t have to heal me from this for me to believe.

How do I be saved and have a relationship with God/Jesus. I want to actually have a close friendship with Him.

If a person believes that Jesus is the promised Messiah from Old Testament prophecies and trust in the Messiah (Jesus) for His gift of His Eternal Life. Then that person has received Eternal Life never to lose it, they become born again a child of God.

You do not have to tell God you believe this He knows when you believe.

The next step is growing in your believers life, by studying the Bible. This free grace website has excellent resources.

Can I suggest that you read the article on the link? It tells you how to be born again. It is not enough to have an intellectual appreciation. We all need a real relationship with God through Christ - as you are obviously aware. The article will be a great help to you.

Andrew my brother it is completely normal to have feelings of doubt especially when you have just become saved. Doubting your salvation or just having fear in general is just a lie that comes from the enemy. Don't give into those lies. Keep on walking alongside Jesus and praying to him. He will lead you in the right direction and will also keep speaking to you in ways you never thought of. I can also tell you that it is the will of God for you to be healed. Healing doesn't always come through the supernatural sometimes it comes through science as well. I'll pray for your healing!

I felt just like you im even from same country as you are which is quite funny.

There are few things to realise :
1) Salvation is free gift not by any kind of works Ephesians 2:8-9 , when you realise it you stop fearing anything and you feel secure in Christ.

Definition of gospel is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 that Christ rose from the dead after dying for our sins and fulfilling prophecy simple as that which you said yourself that you believe.

After you hear this/read/somebody reads it to you or tells you and you believe then such person decides to become Christian or not by simply believing the good news or rejecting it . After such person believes he/she is sealed and indwelled with Holy Spirit Ephesians 1:13-14 which is forever , and you are promised ressurection of your body after you die.The time you accept Christ and are sealed with Holy Spirit you become Child of God and God the Father becomes your father which means he start rewarding you for your service AND punishing for disoebedience / sin and so on way more than he would unbeliever.

Have you ever heared of "do not take name of your God in vain" ? It has nothing to do with cursing or saying bad words it has to do with how you represent your father by your behaviour here on earth .
Rewards given by your Father are forever which you are going to get after you die at Judgement Seat of Christ , there are several "crowns" which are status symbol of how you will look after you die , the best thing you can do is to win souls but there are also clothing poor / giving food to these who starve / teaching word of God / becomming missionary ect.

About second comming you have nothing to worry about since you are excluded from God's wrath because you are alredy forgiven the moment you believe in Christ , you will never be judged for any sins you commit since now because you have been alredy judged and forgiven since you judged yourself and realised that you can't save yourself and asked for forgivness .

As a Believer you will come with Christ for 2nd comming if you died before it to witness the great war in alredy ressurected imperishable body like angels have .

From the other hand if you are true believer your life will be worse than anything you could suffer in war , you will be persecuted , they will be laughing at you and think you are crazy because you are not one of these people who aren't saved , never really happy because you realise how corrupted and lost this world really is.

The problem with asking for advice about religion on Christian Forums is that you get many different views. That can be confusing.

One person will say, "My church is the right one."

Another will say, "You must speak in tongues."
(You already speak Polish and English.)

If you read your Bible, it tells you what God wants you to know. You already believe in Jesus---you are born again. When Satan lies to you, he will say, "No, you don't believe in Jesus; you are mine."

We know what Jesus said to the Pharisees:

John 8 NIV
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

You do believe in Jesus. Read your New Testament every day. Tell Satan to go away when he lies to you! You have the Holy Spirit! God bless you. :praying:

I'm not sure what to do. Even though I believe the bible and Jesus, that doesn't make me a Christian does it? Even the Devil believes in Jesus.
Hello Andrew, it's true that the devil and his demons know who God is, that He is the one and only God, and that Jesus is God the Son, and they shudder when they think of Him as a result (which puts them ahead of most of the unsaved among us, who believe the same things about God that demons do, but w/o all the shuddering).

This article may prove to be useful to you, as it should help you see the difference between the two kinds or types of faith that St. James speaks of, dead faith and saving faith (though the Reformers spoke of three kinds of faith, actually). Saving faith, as you will see in the article (#3 in the list), involves things like trust in, reliance upon, and surrender of the reins of our lives to God.

Faith Defined

Beyond this, we are told in the Bible to examine/test ourselves, to make sure that we are in the faith .. e.g. 2 Corinthians 13:5. So the question becomes, how do we do that? What do we look for to see if we are truly born again/in the faith/in Christ .. or not, because we cannot see our hearts, like God can? All of this I will get back to if you'd like.

You also need to remember that each person who comes to saving faith may do so in any number of different ways. For some it is very dramatic (I was saved at 30 .. on Sunday night, Nov 2nd, 1986 .. from the very sinful life that I led during the entire decade of my 20's, and I will never forget it, because it seemed like the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders that night when He saved me from my sins), but for others, who perhaps grew up in the church, becoming a believer normally happens at a much younger, less sinful age than it did for me, and it is probably not remembered as a dramatic experience or impact event in their lives (because it probably wasn't), nor can many who came to Christ that way point to a day and hour, and/or place, IOW, when/where they became Christians.

If you have the time, take a look at the article I posited above, but try not to make too much out of it in a personal just yet. A BIG thing to remember as a new believer is that our real fight is not against flesh and blood, it's spiritual, and we have a common enemy among us who whispers anything but sweet nothings in our ears about our faith as he does his very best to destroy our relationship with God (who he hates).

More on him later too if you'd like (Dv).

The best thing to do at this point is to relax as best you can and take your time with all of this information that is coming your way right now (IOW, like I said above, don't let what you are learning become too personal such that it overwhelms you, because some of it may not even apply to you).

Have you talked to your pastor about all of this yet?

God bless you!

--David
p.s. - if you have not begun to read the Bible, you should do so immediately. Starting with the Gospel of John is my recommendation.

I would say what he said to his disciples “follow me”

follow Jesus, how do you do this you may ask ?
You follow the things he commands and asks you to in the Word of God.

and one step is to get baptized in the Holy Ghost and receive his Spirit for he is the one that will help you on your journey..

And there is more to it also.. you need someone who knows the word of God and has walked with him to be able to disciple you and to help you grow in your faith and walk with Jesus.. if you have a pastor I would meet with him and talk about these things with him...
