  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does the recently confirmed existence of UfO's pose a threat to Christianity?

Sept 2019 the U.S. Navy confirms existence of UFOs with hard evidence including visual sightings over a period of years -- and also tracking them on radar as well as engaging them in arial maneuver (dog fights) where they are not firing on anything just trying to follow/track it.

Does your view of Christianity view this as a threat to Christianity? a threat to evangelism in the context of a public being informed that UFO's are real and not merely swamp gas? Or will it increase the ability to evangelize the public in favor of Christianity in your view?

Many people who have been discussing this idea for a long time ... claim that publicly admitting to it would be a problem for Christianity.

If something in your faith or view is threatened by something what people say or what is based on evidence, your faith is simply wrong and you must accomodate to new truths.

Christianity is a broad term with many personal views, beliefs and paths, but the core Christianity is the apostolic creed. Nothing in the apostolic creed is threatened by the existence of UFO.

No.
Many people's faith is threatened, tested, challenged, by the deception on these forums, and by daily temptations from the enemies of Christ.

Falling for the temptation of your new truths, leads to more failure.

I personally think I saw UFO twice in my life, but who can be sure today, with all those satellites, ISS, drones and experimental planes in sky.

So why go the way of the heathen, thinking something unBiblical, instead of just recognizing the things are UNidentified (until later when they are IDENTIFIED).

Navy confirms existence of UFOs
No one ever confirmed that they are space ships from another planet. According to science we can not travel faster then the speed of light. The closest star is 4.37 light years away. In the Jodie Foster movie "Contact" she traveled to other worlds through worm holes. There are some theories that we could go from one area in the universe to another though some sort of system like this. I have envisioned something like an optical fiber where we could travel from one place to another. I do not think there are aliens like us though.

Change is not a failure.

Truth prevails.

UFO's as defined "unidentified flying object" have no relation to our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. If a being walked out of a ship and claimed to be from the planet Vulcan, then I would brush up on my hand sign and share the "Good News" about our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I am a huge science fiction fan so I am prepared!!

I think you're assuming these are aliens from another planet which then may give cause for some sort of disruption in traditional Christian thinking. But none of these videos confirm this, all they are is something we don't understand.

How would gospel based on Jesus Christ' humanity on cross apply to inhumans?

On the other hand, UFOs are much probably from this planet.

If a being walked out of a ship and claimed to be from the planet Vulcan
... they would be lying. (unless someone named a city "planet vulcan"),
OR
they would be actors, shooting a new starck wreck episode ... :)

Like in japan, a town/city named "100% Beef", legally, so they could sell whatever such a way....

Unexplained phenomena <> proof of alien life

There is no scientific proof of any extra terrestrial life.

But the bible does reveal that other creatures than us exist e.g. animals and angels.

Given the creativity of God there may well be other creatures of his that we have not met yet. But from the perspective of our own salvation history they are well nigh irrelevant as God has laid out a clear path for us.
