I don’t typically share posts from the site but this one stood out.

She Accused Him of Rape. She Then Sent Herself Threatening Messages to Frame Him.

John Doe, told the Record he was on the brink of suicide until he was acquitted last November on five charges of sexual assault. Continued.

This is a timely reminder for everyone. I’ve read several stories like these over the last few weeks and they’re increasing in number.

Bearing false witness is the new trend. And men are the target.

How do you protect yourself from falling prey to wily people? What advice would you give to others less prepared?

Please share your thoughts. :)

*Edited to add protective prayers to the OP.

Protective Prayers

A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing. —Proverbs 6:12-15

Given the climate, it would be wise to arm yourselves in prayer to guard against unwarranted attacks.

Pray against lying, accusing, and malicious spirits. These are the spiritual influences behind their behavior.

If you are under attack or suspect a situation is heading in that direction, Psalm 7 is an excellent petition for the Lord’s intervention and vindication.

If the situation is dire and physical danger is involved, Psalm 35 is an option.

Psalm 91 is ideal for protection and general welfare.

Psalms 23, 27, and 37 will strengthen your spirit in battle.

And Psalm 18 is thanksgiving for the victory you secured!

I had a trap set on me and a few others at work years ago. The Lord protected me. Recently, I read online her obituary. She died young from cancer.

The experience gave me a new sense of radar.

I try to surround myself with good company.

Avoid most feminists, and those who espouse feminist views such as "believe all women", "if a man is found innocent he can just get over the accusation".

I think it's only going to get worse. With social media, you can have your own personal army to back you up by going public with your claims. That makes it especially perilous.

I think you’re right and the mob mentality on social media is really unhealthy.

This is also one of the reasons why I'm not comfortable dating at this time. This is akin to starting and spreading rumours in middle and high school but the punishment is so much worse than detention.

I understand your concerns and I’m trying to avoid a similar conclusion. I think prayerful vigilance is a must. We need to be cautious with the people we bring into our lives.

I hope you find a kind soul that’s worth the risk for a loving bond. :)

I’m sorry you experienced that and happy to hear the Lord vindicated you. Did you make any changes in your interactions after the incident?

I think the obvious culprits are easy to spot. But most of the stories involve women who don’t fit that profile. How would you weed them out?

Is that true? I'd think most of these would be outspoken feminists and ones who think their gender study classes were eye opening and well worth their time, lol.

Perhaps it is not always clear cut, but I think if you ask questions and the women in your life seem to have respect and decency for men's feelings and well being.. you're being as safe as you can be within reason.

Which is kind of sad. There are some good feminists out there, even if I think they are misguided.. but it's just too scary and not worth the risk pursuing any romantic relationship with them.

That’s a good point. I don’t spend a lot of time in their company. I try to understand their perspective. But I don’t want their rhetoric in my head.

True. I think we can do better with caring for men’s hearts. But a willingness to consider his needs and value him is an important start.

Being prepared just encase is certainly a good idea. We were warned about this culture well in advance in scripture, and that prophecy is certainly coming to pass. The internet has proven to be a double-edged sword, especially due to social media.

I've noticed a disturbing increase in the overall lack of empathy, respect, compassion and critical thinking in society, and it's concerning. Ironically, it also seems people are becoming more unhinged and extreme in their reprisals, as well as well-versed in tactics of manipulation. It's like there's an intense need for retribution for some reason. People seek to control or even destroy others they don't agree with, rather than respect the differences between them. Obviously, there's an evil force behind this; what she did was demonic.

Call-out culture is on the rise, and can destroy someone's reputation as victims are often guilty until proven innocent. However, we do still have rights we need to be aware of, and can take legal action against harassment or defamation. In the case mentioned in the article, contacting the police right away would have been a good idea. It's also wise to document everything if you eventually need to prove your case and innocence. Businesses such as Reputation Defenders can also be contacted to address online harassment and slander, and limiting your online presence is also a good idea nowadays. An unfortunately reality, but one to be aware of nonetheless.

Depends. I think in some ways you need to be pretty manly to be a male feminist. They expect you to be stoic and sweep any issues men face under the rug. If a male does act like a female feminist he'll often get called a "man-child". Lol.

Every since I had the unfortunate experience of viewing a muscular man in pigtails and ruffled feminine attire. I no longer encourage dialogue with male feminists.

Lesson learned.

Being prepared in advance is certainly a good idea. We were warned about this culture well in advance in scripture, and that prophecy is certainly coming to pass. The internet has proven to be a double-edged sword, especially due to social media.

I understand the warnings. But I can’t wrap my mind around the malice and vindictiveness. We see things occurring on the Internet and offline. It’s like crazy is the norm and you’re looking for sane people who understand the difference.

I've noticed a disturbing increase in the overall lack of empathy, respect, compassion and critical thinking in society, and it's concerning.

I’ve seen similar trends and the absence of reason is frightening. We’re becoming more base and animalistic in our nature.

It's like there's an intense need for retribution for some reason. People seek to control or even destroy others they don't agree with, rather than respect the differences between them. Obviously, there's an evil force behind this; what she did was demonic.

I avoid arguments and personalities that are frequently mired in debates. Some people don’t let things go.

However, we do still have rights we need to be aware of, and can take legal action against harassment or defamation.

I want to highlight your suggestions for the sale of others. :)

— In the case mentioned in the article, contacting the police right away would have been a good idea.

— It's also wise to document everything if you eventually need to prove your case and innocence.

— Businesses such as Reputation Defenders can also be contacted to address online harassment and slander, and limiting your online presence is also a good idea nowadays.

Internet scrubs are another option. They’re performed by private agencies. They’ll research your footprint and remove damaging elements.

Yeah, that's ridiculous. There are deceitful people in every demographic. I'll believe all women when I believe all men, which isn't going to happen in this lifetime. Those who say "believe all __________" are either full of it, naive, or naive and full of it.

Yeah.. we can't get pass the biological urge to treat women like innocent children.
