  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

you cannot go to the DA and negotiate the rules for the Grand Jury.
In this case the DA is trying to proceed without a Grand Jury. The people that are suppose to make laws are being lawless and they are about to be exposed.

Who is Trump?
Trump is a candidate for president that is under fire from the opposing party that is abusing power in their failed attempt to promote or defend Biden. I do not even think Biden is serious about his bid for office. But he must be taking in donations so he wants to defend his flow of money that anti Trump people are giving him.

Trump's position means nothing
His position is that he is not going to give them the information they are asking for. He is willing to cooperate if they agree to play by his rules. This is like a chess game & each side takes their turn to make their move.

No. The constitution gives autonomy to the house on how to proceed with their investigation. Trump does not get to demand they comply to his wishes for how to proceed.

Yes. That is the problem. The president does not get to dictate these rules.

His whole entire life he's been spoiled into thinking he is entitled to get whatever he wants. It's not a surprise that he thinks the Constitution must bend to what he wants. It's stupid yeah but not a surprise.

If there is one thing that has become readily apparent is that Trump has little clue about how government functions.

He can play his game all he wants. "His rules" simply have no legal standing.

The point is he is not giving them the information they are requesting. They can do what they want, but it appears he can do what he wants also.

That's always been readily apparent. Trump has always made it obvious how absolutely clueless and careless he is about how the government functions.

All humans can do what they want. That is neither here nor there. The question is why conservatives are supporting someone who is so clearly outside of constitutional authority.

Perhaps they feel the House is outside of their constitutional authority.

Then they are even more clueless about the constitution than anyone imagined.

Can I trust that if Pelosi has the House vote on Wednesday and is successful that Trump will comply?

Can I trust you to call Trump our if he fails to comply?

Do you think I can influence Trump in some way? I am just an observer. Trump is doing the job he was elected to do. Why would they want to impeach him. There is an election coming up. Are they afraid that he is going to be re elected?

Because he engaged in the very actions the founding fathers included impeachment to deal with.

I merely expect you to call him out on here. I don’t think you can influence him but if you’ll let him ignore the House even if Pelosi complies with his demands then you demanding Pelosi to hold a vote is nothing but a desperate diversion.

You don't call a Grand Jury during the investigation, you only empanel a Grand Jury when you are ready to file charges. Quit trying to put the cart before the horse.
