  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You sure it wasn't russia? Or any of the other dozens of conspiracy theories against Trump? I've heard wolf being cried for years now. Never saw as much as a Chihuahua. Now this current situation is upon us and people are yet again crying wolf. In the next couple of days yet even more earth shattering things will come out; having the MSM scrabeling like chicken little screaming the sky is falling.

Lets see.. also this week Trump reportedly stole pancakes as a child. Pence used a motorcade to get to an event, and Trump might have stepped on a crack and broke his mother's back. It has gotten to the point where the animus is so overwhelmingly apparent, Trumps aggressors cannot even be taken seriously. Anything. Anything at all will be used to attack Trump. It's laughable at this point.

I'm quit certain the the transcript released by the Trump administration contains enough damning evidence all on its own. No need for anything in the MSM. It is there written plain to see. Let me ask, do you dismiss what is in the transcript based on the information contained within it or external factors like you have outlined above?

Why is Trump talking about Crowdstrike and the server with Zelensky? Is he trying to prove Russia never hacked the DNC and that Russia never did any of the things that American intelligence and Robert Mueller said they did? Is Trump trying to exonerate Putin and prove it's a plot hatched by Ukrainians to make Russia look bad?

I'm just having one of those days where I'm tired of the dog and pony show. One of those days you smack your forehead and say: "yes I know Orange man bad. Yes I know I'm a bigoted racist. Now what? What is it this time?"

And I shrug my shoulders and figure it is just more of the same. Same song and dance every show. They don't even change up the ponies, just the name of the show. But now! Now, under this new name we finally got him!!

I will look into it latter but color me shocked when I find exactly what I suspect.

The whole thing's really bizarre anyway. The opposition political party's Congressional spokesmen have made clear, many times, that they can impeach for any reason they choose. There have already been articles of impeachment introduced in the House of Representatives by a member who openly says that impeachment is in order because they don't like the president, that's all.

Now that they have hit on a new gimmick (Ukraine), nothing actually changes, but we will go on talking here as though there are legitimate reasons for impeachment--or not--as each poster wants to argue it.

Spot on, spot on. They will never find anything because there is nothing to find, they hate President Trump just to hate and the hatred is personal.

Cloudstrike was contracted by the DNC in relation to the current FISA/HRC server investigation.

President Barack Obama just so happened to appoint Steven Chabinsky, the general counsel and chief risk officer for CrowdStrike, to the Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity. The FBI has never viewed those servers. It was done internally by cloudstrike, and the only findings come from them, with no third party investigation. And the head/chief advisor of US cybersecurity was from cloudstrike.

And again, this is yet another tie in, into fusion gps, Perkin Coie, Steele dossier ect...

The transcripts are written by four people that listen in to the conversation. These four transcripts are then compared and a final version is released. So it's probably word for word what Trump actually said in the conversation with the Ukrainian President.

That is what I have been told.

....and the four transcripts go through a screening process. Recording of the President's conversations were abandoned some time ago. For now, we are stuck with a "transcript" process that is subject to political manipulation.

I don't even see the point of this. Biden is on record and was taped admitting he got the prosecutor fired. Congrats on the media for not finding something I can find on youtube, and for only targeting trump.

I think you should read up on who was calling for the prosecutor’s removal and why. It was in the news at the time.

Marbles, it’s a transcript released by Trump. It’s not fake news. Trump asks a foreign government to investigate his political rival, and ties it to foreign and military aide.

No, it wasn't. It's a cybersecurity firm that looked into the DNC server hack by the Russians

The FBI has never viewed those servers. It was done internally by cloudstrike, and the only findings come from them, with no third party investigation. So what? What would be the point of repeating an investigation into a hack that you already contracted a bunch of experts to perform?

And again, this is yet another tie in, into fusion gps, Perkin Coie, Steele dossier ect...

It ties into those things less than my pet goldfish.

his political rival

Oh sure, guess we forgot all about his civilian life. How did Trump veiw Obama & Biden 2010 ish to before in office? When running for office what was his opinion of them two? Didn't he say they were swamp creatures?

Also "rival" is a bit of a stretch. He is just kind of loosely associated with the same topic. I don't think Joe is going to rival anyone running.

This was not a call made as a civilian. He invokes aid given to Ukraine, which he withheld. Joe is the front runner, and is beating him in the polls. Of course he’s his number 1 rival for the Presidency. When Liz surpasses Biden, I’m sure Trump will be seeking to destroy her by any means necessary as well.

This is classic quid pro quo, offering the resources of the American ppl in exchange for smearing Trump’s top political opponent.

You are so confused you don't even realise that, 'yes it was' and 'that's is an entirely differnt topic' are both correct replies to what you just posted.

Thank you for the response, and I want you to know that I am aware of what you are describing. It seems to me that Trump is implying that the government in Ukraine is culpable. From his public press meeting with Zelensky today:

“I will tell you this: that Rudy’s looking to also find out where the phony witch hunt started, how it started.”
A Russian witch hunt turned out to be two and a half years of phony nonsense. Rudy Giuliani is a great lawyer, he was a great mayor, he’s highly respected.

I’ve watched the passion he’d had on television over the last few days. Incredible what he’s done. What he has done, he wants to find out where did this Russian witch-hunt you people helped perpetrate, where did it start? How come it started? All nonsense. It was a hoax. A total hoax. It was a media hoax and a Democrat hoax. Where did it start?

And Rudy’s got every right to go and find out where that started and other people are looking at that, too. Where did it start? The enablers? Where did it all come from? Can out of thin air and he has every right to do it. He’s a good lawyer, knows exactly what he’s doing and it’s very important.
“I believe President Putin would like to do something,” Trump said. “I really hope you and President Putin get together and can solve your problem.

Reporters then directed questions to Zelensky, where they asked about Trump’s request. “I mean that we have independent country and independent general security. I can’t push anyone. You know? That’s it. That is a question — that is the answer,” Zelensky said.

Two things are clear. (1)Trump either blames the Ukraine for some part in the "Russian hoax" or he wants to make people believe that. He says it began there and he appears to imply that the government of Ukraine were enablers for a Democratic plot to frame Russia and himself as a co-conspirator in the election interference. He therefore claims that he doesn't believe Russia hacked the DNC, he doesn't believe anything in the Mueller report about any Russian interference whatsoever. (2) Trump publicly supports Putin over and against American intelligence.

The inconsistencies are staggering. The hacked DNC material was disseminated through WikiLeaks and Donald Trump helped do that, saying, "I love WikiLeaks". The hacked material damaged the Hillary campaign severely by causing Sanders supporters to not show up to vote for her. It's even possible that this may have cost her the election. Then there's the Trump tower meeting where there were emails claiming that Russia was helping Trump and wanted to give His campaign dirt on Hillary. A Russian representative showed up at that meeting, a lawyer Veselnitskaya who was in frequent contact with the Russian prosecutor general and a major player in fighting against the Magnitsky act. Then there's Manaforte, known to have been previously working for the Pro-Russian President that was ousted before Russia invaded the Ukraine, and also owing money to Oleg Deripaska who helped the Pro Russian Government come to power in the first place. He ultimately ends up being Trumps campaign manager. And of course Roger Stone and his ties to Julian Assange.

It's pretty hard for me to believe that the Ukraine with the help of the DNC did all of that. Frankly, Trump sounds nuts.

Well, mr it's crowdstrike not cloudstrike, the confusion doesn't lie with me.

What Is CrowdStrike and Why Is Donald Trump Blabbering About It to Ukraine

"For what it's worth, people at CrowdStrike are as confused as we all are.

“I got nothing,” Adam Meyers, the vice president of intelligence at CrowdStrike, told me in an online chat, when asked why Trump may have referred to the company in the call."

...

"For the record, CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity company that makes an antivirus-like product called Falcon. This is a cloud-based software that monitors computers and protects them from malware. The company also investigates data breaches when customers hire its researchers to respond to an incident."

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia. But they were far less concerted or centrally directed than Russia’s alleged hacking and dissemination of Democratic emails.

The Ukrainian antipathy for Trump’s team — and alignment with Clinton’s — can be traced back to late 2013. That’s when the country’s president, Viktor Yanukovych, whom Manafort had been advising, abruptly backed out of a European Union pact linked to anti-corruption reforms. Instead, Yanukovych entered into a multibillion-dollar bailout agreement with Russia, sparking protests across Ukraine and prompting Yanukovych to flee the country to Russia under Putin’s protection.

Yup ... Biden was an agent of the US bringing pressure to bear on the Ukranian government to fire a corrupt prosecutor. He was doing his job, as a representative of the US and her allies and trading partners. As VP, Biden had no power to deny Ukraine aid. He was only carrying a message that was backed up by the Obama administration and the international community.
