  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree.

They would not impeach Clinton.

They will not impeach Trump.

America may vote Trump out but by default but they will get Biden as punishment. I don't see any real difference between these two people, both are deeply corrupt.

False, Clinton did get impeached. Was not removed from office by the Senate but the House did impeach him.

Bill Clinton was the second President to be impeached in American history. President Andrew Johnson was the first and if Donald Trump has undeniably abused his power as President and it can be proven, then he should become the third President to be impeached in the history of the United States.

Yes your correct but he was found not guilty of the charges. Joe Biden voted that he was not guilty.

The congress won't impeach Trump, it's a numbers game after all. The Republicans are not going to support an impeachment because they will forfeit their chances in the next election.
Unless it becomes much worse, the Senate will not convict ...

Wrong. It's not a transcript. Read the memorandum at the bottom of the first page of the document.

This phone call was 30 minutes. This "transcript" is not even 6 pages, including header and preface. You are 100% out to lunch if you think more won't come out.
View attachment 263802

The “Memorandum of Telephone Conversation” — or “memcon” — released Wednesday is not a transcript, by definition. It resembles a verbatim account of the presidential conversation, yet memcons are not always word-for-word. Former White House and U.S. security officials tell The Washington Post the documents are meant to be as close to verbatim as possible. But they end up passing through several revisions by nonpartisan career staff and political appointees which, in the case of Trump’s July 25 conversation with Zelensky, has triggered fears of misconduct.

......

Historically, Pfeiffer said, the process has been apolitical; the rough transcripts have been edited only for clarity and accuracy.

But former White House staffers said that the Trump administration, in a departure from prior presidencies, has been more willing to edit the telephone conversation memos to remove errors or insensitive remarks Trump has made, apparently in an effort to avoid political heat or embarrassment.

“Don’t rely on whatever transcript is released,” one former staffer said, who requested anonymity to speak candidly. “Even if it’s unredacted; those transcripts are heavily edited by political leadership at NSC. I’ve seen substance deleted from these call ‘transcripts’ to delete either superfluous details or more substance.”

The transcripts are written by four people that listen in to the conversation. These four transcripts are then compared and a final version is released. So it's probably word for word what Trump actually said in the conversation with the Ukrainian President.

That is what I have been told.

I don't even see the point of this. Biden is on record and was taped admitting he got the prosecutor fired. Congrats on the media for not finding something I can find on youtube, and for only targeting trump.

Why is that an issue?

What is the supposed 'thing' Trump allegedly did in this phone call that started this circus?

Tried to get a foreign government to interfere in an American election. Possibly by using American tax payer funded military aid. How does this answer my question?

I'm not worried about your question, Im worried about mine.

Just so happens yet another scandal happens to pop up once trump makes some tweets.

Except that the investigator was fired for not investigating. The exact opposite of what Trump claimed.

Sure. MSM does not exactly have a track record of being correct or honest here. However, it just so happens Trump needs to be investigated once he brings up Biden. Quite a kwinky dink. ;)

No, he needs to be investigated when credible evidence that he conspired to have a foreign government interfere in the US elections surfaces. Even should Biden be guilty as sin it does not change the fact that his own transcripts show him requesting this.

Sure... this document shows that. That document shows this... Bombshell evidence from this report... End of the world earth shattering nothing burger from the next one.

At what point is it ok to just right this all off as delusional? I mean it's been 3 years. A constant non stop 3 years.

At what point is it OK to write off the president of the United States of America actively soliciting foreign interference in American elections? To my mind never. It is never OK to write that off. It is never OK for the President to put his political career ahead of the good of the country.

Why do you feel that is a delusional position?

You sure it wasn't russia? Or any of the other dozens of conspiracy theories against Trump? I've heard wolf being cried for years now. Never saw as much as a Chihuahua. Now this current situation is upon us and people are yet again crying wolf. In the next couple of days yet even more earth shattering things will come out; having the MSM scrabeling like chicken little screaming the sky is falling.

Lets see.. also this week Trump reportedly stole pancakes as a child. Pence used a motorcade to get to an event, and Trump might have stepped on a crack and broke his mother's back. It has gotten to the point where the animus is so overwhelmingly apparent, Trumps aggressors cannot even be taken seriously. Anything. Anything at all will be used to attack Trump. It's laughable at this point.
