I was baptized today. I have been reading and studying the word for hours a day for a couple weeks. In this time I have had some pretty religious dreams. Some beautiful. Some disturbing. I have woken up with grace and joy in my heart. I have met prophets in dreams that have forced me to speak actual Hebrew (looked it up.) And this morning, the morning I was to be baptized, I woke up speaking in prophecy. The words coming out of my physical mouth were not my own. Not only that, they were terrifying to me. "The living God is dead; the dead god is alive.....Jesus is a lie.....Mohammad is the only true prophet....Allah is Lord." And so on. I immediately assumed the enemy put those words in me. I summarily told him where to stick it and went back to sleep. I had to speak to my pastor about this event today because it rightfully shook me. He turned me to 1 John 4

Just a gentle reminder not to trust every spirit, every religious experience, every gift or vision or revelation. Beware the False Prophet.

Oh to be fresh in the faith again. Maybe I can reclaim what has been lost.

I know it's hard, I suppose especially for one coming from a charismatic background, but learn when to be quiet instead of loud. You, like me, can lose dear friends by being honest when you should just be silent.

Your first 4 words in the OP tell the story: "I was baptized today."

What you heard coming out of your mouth prior to your being baptized was satan's last ditch shot at trying to convince you against being baptized.

satan LOST, and Christ won.

I'll give you a hint:

The Bible covers some 4000 years of history.

There are only a scarce dozen of dreams in it of any spiritual significance therein.

What does this tell you about the importance of your own dreams?

And what makes you think these were real prophets in your dreams?

Eastern Christianity teaches that one of the temptations of the demons is to make spiritual novices think they are more advanced spiritually than they really are.

A question for you.
If you have obeyed Romans12:1+2 and had bible biased brains why would you need beautiful religous dreams or prophetic messages.

The bible tells you what we all need to do in Jesus's words,' If you Love me you will obey my commands.'

the gift of prophecy is always used to help or assure other people. Legitimate, gifted Prophets are first and foremost the most humble messengers you will ever see.
They are devoted to God's will, and they know not to step in front of God.

So if you ever see a proud prophet, run quickly the other way, because those men and women aren't carrying messages from God: They are touting their own messages.

And by doing so, they are standing in the way of what God wants for you.

The problem is what you are describing is full on possession by a bad spirit. I would be very careful if I were you regarding what things I allow in my home, what videos what games, what books, what images etc.

True, we must test every spirit.
