Like I said, both chapters 1 and 2 are of the same event. Chapter 1 is accounting for ALL of creation while chapter 2 narrows down and pinpoints to humans.

That's not true. In Genesis 2 it shows how the Lord provided bodies for the animals just like the body was provided for the man. Formed like Adam's body was from the elements of the earth.

19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild
animals and all the birds in the sky.

Chapters 1 and 2 are not the same event. Chapter 2 was the resulting need being fulfilled for what was created in Chapter One.

What was created in Chapter One were the soul... Chapter Two, we see bodies being made manifest for those souls to live within the material world.

I understand your interpretation.....for it is needed to match your current belief.

You are combining scriptures and chapters, you say......but in the image creation.....both male and female were created in His image....yet in the second instance.....only Man was created, and the woman came out of the man......how do you reconcile this?

Because you are confusing the Hebrew words "jatsar" and "bara" for meaning the same thing. Both Hebrew words hold distinctly different meanings.

I Genesis 1:27? God created (bara) male and female in His 'shadow image.' The word create is bara. That word applies only to God. For only God can create something out from nothing. After all .. In the Beginning God "bara" the Heavens and earth.

Now, the bodies? They were not created out from nothing. Genesis 2 begins by telling us God had rested from creating out from nothing (bara).

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing;
so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed
the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all
the work of creating (bara) that he had done."
Gen 2:2-3

God stopped creating things out from nothing! He rested from that action on the seventh day!

But, what about when God provided a body for Adam? Was He creating out from nothing? The body was not 'created out from nothing!'

The body was provided by what the Hebrew word - "jatsar," means. It was the Lord God taking what had already been created in Genesis One (earth), and then "molding and forming" (jatsar) a body for Adam out from the elements found in the earth. Adam's body was not created like the souls were created out from nothing in Genesis first chapter. Those were male and female souls that had been created "out from nothing!"

Without knowing what the Hebrew of Genesis One, and Two, say? We will end up with a lot of papers being handed in for the creative writing class. That is why we need to find teachers who understand the original languages!

I still do not see how you got that from what I said.

For..you said...

There was nothing to do with eating people and drinking the blood being taken literally. It was representative symbolism. Just like the sacrificial lamb represented Jesus on the Cross.

When Jesus said... "this is my blood." He was referring to his death for our sins.

"Now if we died with Christ, we believe
that we will also live with him."
Rom 6:8

We have died with Christ on the Cross.

Our flesh no longer lives (in God's eyes).

Jesus is the Bread of Life! We must eat Him to have life!

What was His life?

Jesus answered,“It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Mat 4:4

We are to feast upon God's Word! Jesus was telling Satan that his eternal nourishment came from the Word of God!

Eat Him? How? Jesus is the Word of God! John 1:1

Therefore? When we eat Him we must take in the Word of God. We must first understand it and then believe it to have life! No room for confusion... Time clarifies all confusion if we pray, seek, and patiently endure and never quit until clarification is brought our way! Those who refuse to endure settle for mediocre, non growth churches.

grace and peace...
I suppose if you want to believe that words aren’t really that important, sure. “Blood” actually means “acting like Jesus”. Um, okay. So what’s the real word for the red stuff that comes out of our house veins?

That's what I have been trying to tell her... No Jew would have accepted a command to drink blood if it were to be taken literally.
And I’ve been trying to tell you that PRETENDING to eat flesh and drink blood is also creepy, unless you’re a kid at a Halloween party and know that it’s all fun and games.

The biological life of man and animals must be similar! For its the same elements of this earth we depend upon to maintain our biological life. No big deal.

It is a big deal to God, who made all animals and gave each one a soul.
What makes man drastically different than animals?

The animal souls are generic souls.

If all other animal species had the same soul, there would not be an endless variety of personalities. How do you explain the fact that every cat and dog I meet is totally different if their souls are generic?
Our souls? Created in the image of God! Difference is tremendous!

Their generic soul is what makes animals creatures of instinct.

Humans are also creatures of instinct and other animal species are also more than creatures of instinct.
Man was created for high calling of THOUGHT and REASON...to know God.

That is why God could give animal meat for food. They have no eternal life.
Other animals are as capable of thinking as we are. We are not the only animals that can reason. It goes way beyond pure instinct too. And in fact animals do have eternal life whether they are human or not.

On the Passover Jews eat bitter herbs to remind them of the bitterness and tears of being under slavery in Egypt. When they eat the bitter herbs in the Passover Seder meal? They do not think they are eating bitterness and tears. They know are taking part in symbolism.
What Is Maror? - All About the Bitter Herbs

Wine is not blood. Is it? It was used to symbolize the blood of the lamb placed on the doorposts in the Exodus. The lamb had to die! In turn? The wine represented the DEATH of Jesus. It was a parallel symbolism to the lambs that were sacrificed that bled to death. Besides.. Jesus did not even bleed to death! He voluntarily gave up his last breath. Blood represents his life given for our sins.

Bread is not flesh. We are to eat the meat of the word! These elements are used to symbolize a reality they are made to represent.

Seems you have a problem with thinking in the abstract. Few people do. Most Christians do not. I thank God for them.

We're OK...

You can keep trying to badger me because of what you do not have the capacity to understand. That's OK..
I am not trying to badger you. I am trying to impress upon you that there are people out there that aren’t yet Christian that are turned off even by the SYMBOLISM of cannibalism.

It did not stop me from getting saved. Did it stop you?

Take up your cross and follow him. Early Christians were accused by the Romans for being cannibals as well.

Stupid will be what it is. You can't stop stupid. You can try to reason. But, stupid will not. Then again, some unbelievers will listen and be open minded.

I don’t think you’re going to win many people to your cause with that kind of approach.

Look how many people believe!!!!!!

What is your problem? Salvation is done by the Spirit working in someone's heart. Not by some human argument. People believe in Jesus in Islamic countries and are killed for it. Nothing is going to stop a candidate for salvation! Jesus does not pamper and baby people...... That's the way it is. Jesus saves sinners. There will always be mockers. They are there to test the believer's heart. Just learn to explain it and leave it in God's hands...

I am talking about your personal approach. You used the word “stupid” three times in your last post to me. I don’t think you will win many to Christ that way.

Win? People are always going to be saved, no matter how uncomfortable stupid people make you feel. That's the point you missed.

Here is what Jesus has to say about the "Cannibalism complaint."

On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching.
Who can accept it?”
Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to t
hem, “Does this offend you?
Jn 6:60-61

The answer from you has been, "yes." You get offended.

Jesus knew how his words were going to be distorted and attacked. He knows that those who are not weak in faitl will stay. Others will depart.

We are not here win over those whom the Lord himself could not win over. Do we think we can do better than the Lord? Jesus knew his words would cause offense. It was deliberate.

He also knew it would be a means to test the intentions of believers hearing him.

So? The word "stupid" offends some. Yet? The Bible uses it where it applies.

For when someone is explained what the blood represents? Yet, after shown? Persists in their chosen error? They are refusing correction.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid."
Prov 12:1

If the Holy Spirit deemed it essential to have that word "stupid" be used in the Scriptures? (it appears in various passages). Then where it applies and is used? Its not unspiritual to use this word that may offend the sensibilities of some.

Jesus was not afraid to offend the stupid.

"From this time many of his disciples turned back
and no longer followed him.

“You do not want to leave too, do you?”
Jesus asked the Twelve."
Jn 6:66-67
We must learn to not take offense at such things. God wants to train us not to. Otherwise, when pressure from the stupid comes? Such pressure from stupid people will cause believers to quit following the Lord and seek a hiding place in human good, religion churches. Fake Christianity. We need to be toughened up at times.

Okay. I’ve been pussyfooting around it. You just don’t have the gift of gab. You’re a bit off-putting in your approach. Do you want to convert people to Christianity or do you want to insult them? You are doing a good job of making Christianity look unattractive.

I actually believe that it is the spirit behind the words that giveth life. And no amout of knowledge of Greek, English, or Aramaic would help with spiritual understanding. I find little value in showing others how much wisdom of languages i have....because mans wisdom is foolishness to God.

I dont mind saying Created and formed, instead of "bara" and "Jatsar" and I dont feel I have to correct everyone I see who uses it wrong.

For the letter killeth, and is it the spirit that giveth life....

If people can provide where it says explicitly in scripture not to eat another man post it here. Thanks!
Deuteronomy 14:6
Any animal that divides the hoof and has the hoof split in two and chews the cud, among the animals, that you may eat.

Unless humans grow split hooves and an extra stomach to ruminate; (chew the cud) then humans are off limits.

Are you saying that pig, shrimp and lobsters are off limits as well? If you believe that the dietary laws are done away with....then you may have put humans, back on the menu.
