One of the reasons i feel kind of squicky about Christianity is because of the cannibalism aspect. Communion rituals. The idea of pretending to eat jesus’ flesh and blood is revolting

But that's completely different. It's not revolting. We are doing what He commands. It's symbolic of having His sustaining life coursing through us.

If people can provide where it says explicitly in scripture not to eat another man post it here. Thanks!
Why? Is that your prepping strategy?
According to Alexander Hislop in his book, The Two Babylons, the word cannibal has its origin in the the cana baal, or priests of Baal. It was their ceremonial action to eat the flesh of the human sacrifices. Clearly Satanic.

Cannibalism is not a symbolism I am comfortable with. In fact, it’s barbaric.

Did you actually read that book? Anyways, cannibal comes from the Taino language.

That's not the reason at all.

It is the identification with His death on the cross. It is making the breaking of His body and the shedding of His blood personal to us, and that as we are taking communion on Sunday morning we are saying that the body of Jesus was broken that we may be made whole, and that He shed His blood that we may be totally cleansed from sin. It is also in recognition that He took the penalty for sin that we should have had. He sacrificed Himself on the cross for us, so that we may take up our cross daily and live under His Lordship.

That's a much more in-depth analysis.

Shouldn't there be scriptural clarity on such an issue?
Yes. There is. We are to emulate Christ. And loving neighbor and brother means not eating them.

But what if we were stranded on a deserted island and we made an agreement with one another that we could use the flash of one another to feed ourselves to Stave off starvation. Will it be okay then?

This kind of goes back to the scripture that talks about food sacrificed to idols. If the food is to be eaten with Thanksgiving in order to survive in the wilderness of a deserted island would it then be acceptable in the sight of the Lord since all parties agree to it?

Not to eat the flesh of unclean beasts (Lev. 11:4)

In case you think a man can not be referred to as a beast..
Revelation 4:7
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

But then surely man is the cleanest of beasts given that we are made in the image of our creator
But surely we are not, as mankind fell from grace and the animals did not.
BTW , I heard human flesh does not taste like chicken. :)

It is implicit when God said that man was made in his image.

If you are looking for an exact verse, then where is one about rape? In the culture of the time when these inspired books were written the idea of cannibalism was absurd.

Not to mention the scripture that speaks of not eating blood as life is in the blood. All parts of the body have blood.
Based on that I suppose you could eat their finger and toe nails.:)

After the flood God permitted Noah and his descendents to eat meat from clean animals.

in Leveticus and Deuteronomy there are lists of clean and unclean animals. They tak about animals, not people. People are made in the image of God and are therefore not animals.

Only someone who knows nothing about biology would say such a thing. We are animals in every way, so the only difference between us and all other animals is we have the ability to love or hate God.

LOL are you serious (having some satirical fun?) or is this an attempt at Socratic Dialogue?

Well for one I don't think human meat meats the qualifications of Koshur meat listed in the Pentateuch. I don't believe it was actually forbidden but that is more of a function of things that would have been considered cultural givens at the time, aka if most of the pagans don't do it then that must mean it is obviously bad!

By the way I've heard some folks make the exact point regarding poop eating! Coprophagia is not explicitly forbidden by scripture, but if you look at the koshur rules of the Pentateuch I think the poop touching itself would be a no no, and naturally there should be a common sense realization that something that smells bad etc. should not be done as a exercise in the basic common sense that God has given us.

On a desert Island? Fish and coconuts.

See Gilligan’s Island or the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks.
