Am I a bad person because I don't believe in eternal hell?

To hear some folks talk, one would think that I am committing a terrible sin by not believing that hell lasts forever.

There's other reasons.

Believing in or not believing in eternal hell is possibly of no consequence. Other beliefs that go along with that, or in a person, that can matter.

Your "goodness" or "badness" comes from your standing in Jesus. He says that we are all lost until we make peace with Him.

Theological concepts like Hell or the Lake of Fire only become clear after we have gotten to know Him for a while.

Literal Greek is "unto ages of ages", not "forever and ever", but it's a minority position here at C.F.

Potentially a lot of Hebrew and Greek scholars also, both saved and unsaved.
The meaning of eternal, forever, and so on, in Scripture,
is unknown to most people, apparently, even to a lot of educated ones.

So you are saying that the millions (billions?) who never heard of the Gospel or who lived in pagan lands long before Christ even appeared are doomed simply because they didn't hear the Good News?

We are bad just because we are human? What about the image of God in us? What makes someone a wretched sinner worthy of God's anger and wrath? Does not believing in an eternal burning hell make me the worst of all men and worthy of that very fire? Some seem to think so.

Rejecting Jesus and His Word is what sends people to destruction. Not millions of people - no. BILLIONS of souls, destroyed because of unbelief.

Opposing God is sinful, sinful that is not love.

God is perfectly righteous, with no sin in Him, and He does not permit sin in His Presence .

So those who reject His Word , are not in His Presence.

Perfect Love (Perfect Obedience and Righteousness and Justice), requires and is also PERFECT IN JUDGMENT . (Yahuweh's Judgment is Perfect)

Man's judgment, obviously , is sinful and wrong.

Well, apparently you have a different Bible and a different understanding than I have. I reject the Augustinian view of mankind which you are espousing. So does the Bible. The Bible speaks in many places of people who are righteous. Here's just one example:

Luk 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Scripture says they were blameless (good). Perhaps you should rethink your position and reject Augustinianism.

If you did not see that I do not agree with "Augustinian view",
how can you see anything then ?

And being contrary to God's Word, opposed to Him in the content of your posts, why would God reveal anything to you before repentance ?

The unrepentant sinner will be dead forever, not in torment forever. That's eternal life, which is only given to believers.
