RE: The deportations raids happening -

The people come to the US, apply for asylum, have the hearing - are adjudicated not eligible, the court them orders them deported -

That's the Law

Nancy Pelosi and others block that lawful order in a number of ways:

- Telling them how to avoid the actions
- Refusing to cooperate with law enforcement

I thought obstruction was illegal?

It isn’t when the President does it. Pelosi is just learning from the best. Only the best, right?

Telling people they don’t have to open the door to anyone without a search warrant is not obstruction.

Trump telegraphing the raids is more obstructing than anything else being done.

What on earth does that have to do with the OP? Is that the best? Well... at least we are not as bad as that...… or oh well, he does it. That doesn't work when you are six, what makes one think it will work now?

Telling people they don’t have to open the door to anyone without a search warrant is not obstruction.

If a law enforcement officer has a warrant for your arrest, or in this case deportation. That was authorized by a court of law - and you tell them to not answer the door - that is obstruction.

Trump telegraphing the raids is more obstructing than anything else being done.

Might be the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life - telling people we are enforcing the law is obstructing.

What planet are we on?

There is a fine line here.

If the ice folks are doing lawful work and some local people attempt to keep them from doing their job, that is a problem. If local people are more or less giving advice to illegals, that doesnt prohibit ice from doing their job, that would likely not meet the criteria of obstruction.

If there is a warrant for your arrest - and I show you how to escape law enforcement from executing that lawful order - that is obstructing justice.

No it isn't. Informing people of their rights is NOT obstruction.

Now if you interfere with an ICE agent attempting to make an arrest, that is obstruction.

Not opening a door when there's no warrant is obstruction in your eyes. However, an advance warning, telling when/where ICE is coming, allowing them to go into hiding, isn't.
I found that be pretty funny. ymmv

Interesting:

So letting MS13 Gang member know that the federal government is actively coming after them is obstruction to the federal government going after them.

But telling the gang member how to avoids arrest is not.

What are the stats on numbers of active gang members among people being deported?

Not obstruction no. It could be something like aiding and abetting though.

ICE doesn't always have warrants. If they don't, advising people that they don't have to open their door is not obstruction. If they do, not opening the door can't stop them.

The Fourth Amendment strictly prohibits warrantless intrusions into private homes and the Constitution's protections apply to both citizens and non-citizens alike. In the absence of a judicially authorized warrant, there must be voluntary and knowing consent;

"We Don't Need a Warrant, We're ICE"

Cow451, said ' without ' a warrant. You don't have to open the door if they ' don't ' have a warrant.

Ha!! you did it again.
Trump is the one telling them when to go into hiding!

Ha!

No I didn't - if their response is to go into hiding because we have a President that is actually enforcing the law - that is on them. It shows them for who they are.

What are the stats on numbers of active gang members among people being deported?

I was using MS13 as an example, not saying they were part of the illegals being deported after a judge issued the order.

I think it may be more complicated than that. While true, you cant enter a home without a warrant, but you can detain and arrest someone with probable cause.

An analogy would be, if i observe someone being pulled over by the police and they take off on foot and i tell them where to hide to avoid the police, that may put me in some kind of legal jeopardy. The cop pulling them over liekly didnt have a warrant, but they probably had probable cause.
