I find it an interesting defense offered in some places. For two years we heard Trump Russia collusion almost non stop from Democratic leadership and their media talking heads. It was 24/7 collusion until it was evident that it never happened, then it morphed to obstruction - and now it's collusion? LOL who said collusion?

Schiff: ‘Ample evidence of collusion in plain sight’

Chris Wallace challenges Adam Schiff on Trump-Russia collusion 'in plain sight' claim

Maybe Someone should tell Adam Schiff

Wasserman Schultz: Trump Clearly Colluded With Russia And Engaged In Obstruction Of Justice To Cover It Up

Or Wasserman Schultz

https://www.washingtonpost.com/vide...b1f0ff459df_video.html?utm_term=.291d5ac4829a

Or Pelosi

Nadler: 'There was in plain sight open collusion'

or Nadler
I find it interesting that the report shows instances where the campaign looked like it wanted to conspire with Russia and just couldn't get it's act together.

It's like a group tried to rob a bank but kept screwing up and never made it to the bank. They didn't get a car to get to the bank once. Another time they went to the wrong building and it wasn't the bank. Just a collection of failures. Then you get to watch their supporters cheer that they never did rob the bank. Right. They didn't. But it looks like that was only because they were too stupid to do it. And you are HAPPY about that? Hooray our folks aren't bright enough to pull it off, so take that libs!

Im watching Hannity's rambling breathless train wreck of an opening monologue (muted of course) and he's giddy at the thought of Barr getting the "real criminals" who dared investigate his hero Trump.

Seriously. This is what they’re proud of and what they’re gloating over?

I think this is going to get real interesting, before it is all said and done.

Probably at least as interesting as the President's lawyer's trip to Ukrane to get information on Clinton. I bet both will turn up similar amounts of useful data.

Didn't they also put Hannity's lawyer in prison? Seems like he'd be a bit less than impartial.

When was the last time you sat down and set a timer in something you read? Besides that:

I could care less what you think

Once again, this isn’t about me. So go find something else, like the topic of the thread.
Last time we tried talking about the topic (something about 70% taxes) you up and left, then closed it down. How do we know this will be different?

With a number of Trump associates behind bars and Trump saved from indictment by DOJ rules? Sure!

Not one of which was associated with Trump Russia collusion madness of the last two years.

Calling out a poster is I think against Forum policy. And once again you are following me into a thread, bringing it off the topic of the thread and making a personal issue out of it.

So on ignore you go. Have a good life.

It is going to be a 'review' :

CIA, Director of National Intelligence working with Attorney General Barr to review Russia probe origins - CNNPolitics

Attorney General William Barr is working closely with the CIA to review the origins of the Russia investigation and surveillance issues surrounding Donald Trump's presidential campaign, according to a source familiar with the matter, broadening an effort that the President has long demanded to involve all major national security agencies.......

As CNN previously reported, US attorney John Durham in Connecticut is heading up the effort with Barr. The source said Durham and Barr are doing a comprehensive review, and Durham is with working with the Justice Department's Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, as well.

As to the origins of the investigation, this is a good site to read:

The Russia probe: A timeline from Moscow to Mueller

Three key takeaways:

-- In the months before the 2016 presidential election, the FBI was uncovering efforts by the Russian government to interfere in the election, and the FBI was trying to assess unverified allegations that Trump’s associates were aiding the Russian effort.

-- The FBI’s counterintelligence probe was not launched because of the “dossier,” but the “dossier” aided the investigation and offered unconfirmed tips for agents to explore.

-- Looking to share the work of a longtime acquaintance, senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr passed on “dossier”-linked information to the FBI. But the first recorded meeting between Ohr and the FBI came four months after the FBI launched its investigation and a full month after the FBI used previously-obtained information from the “dossier” to support secret surveillance of Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Curious, how does one listen to a monologue muted and know what is being said??

On an aside, I have had the misfortune to be stuck listening to Hannity a couple times while traveling. What an annoying person. Yeesh.

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut to examine the origins of the Russia investigation, according to two people familiar with the matter, a move that President Trump has long called for but that could anger law enforcement officials who insist that scrutiny of the Trump campaign was lawful.
It wasn't unlawful. It was warranted. The aim of the intelligence communities is to protect the USA.
Read the link in my post above this.

The Russians did interfere in the election. They got into Florida voter rolls in at least 2 precincts. There was so much more.

I quoted the pertaining part of the OP. Yes some believe it was lawful. And a number think it was not.

Evidently the AG and IG and a number in Congress believe it is worth looking into.

What is the left so afraid of?

I welcome the investigation but want the results released. Then clown shoes for those who were wrong.

Don't know. You're the one who thinks the left is "afraid."

Yes I do, I think there are certain ones shaking in their shoes because they are being found out.

I don't think so.

There is concern that the DOJ has eroded the norms regarding independence from the White House under Barr.
