WASHINGTON — Attorney General William P. Barr has assigned the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut to examine the origins of the Russia investigation, according to two people familiar with the matter, a move that President Trump has long called for but that could anger law enforcement officials who insist that scrutiny of the Trump campaign was lawful.

Desperation. Do you really think it will work? I think the toothpaste is out of the tube on Russian interference in our election.

If only there was some entity that specialized in doing internal investigations of the Justice Department he could have turned to instead.

If "hislegacy" were to actually read the Mueller Report, he would know that Trump was never going to be found guilty of "collusion," because there is no basis in law to prosecute it as a criminal offense!

The only reason that this President and his surrogates refer to it repeatedly is the underlying assumption that Trump supporters are too "illiterate" to know that "collusion" is not and has never been a crime!

The trouble is, the Mueller report concluded unequivocally the one thing the Trump administration was afraid of--that Russian interference in the election was real.

Not only did Russia interfere in 2016, but this President still refuses to even acknowledge such intrusions - therefore there has still been no concerted effort by his Administration to learn from past mistakes and take the necessary steps to prevent a repeat in 2020!

In addition, this President has learned no lessons in the aftermath of the Mueller Report and was willing to send Giuliani to the Ukraine to actively involve yet another country in finding "dirt" on a Trump political opponent!

The real question is whether Rudy would have been adverse to extending his trip to Moscow, had the Russians promised to provide some additional "dirt" of their own?

    From the article:
His inquiry is the third known investigation focused on the opening of an F.B.I. counterintelligence investigation during the 2016 presidential campaign into possible ties between Russia’s election interference and Trump associates.

How dare they open a second and third investigation into this before the first is even finished. Don't they realise...oh, sorry, it's republicans doing it. In that case go right ahead.

I predict we only hear that this has happened from Trump supporters and no actual results from the administration.

With only a year and a half left before they're likely removed from office, this admin is going to have to hustle to catch up to the heights of the, what, dozen Benghazi investigations? I mean, if you're going for kangaroo courts might as well go big. Lock Her Up! Lock Her Up!

Nah, I think it will be as effective as Trump's committee to investigate and name all the illegal voters in the 2016 election. Wait, what did you say. Oh, never mind.

Given your tagline, you must be delighted. Myself, I'm pleased as punch; the last thing we want is any hint of corruption or bias in our law enforcement agencies.

Now to allude to my tagline, are you willing to abide by the results of the three investigations, even if they contradict your preconceived opinion?

Which was as effective as his investigation into President Obama's birth certificate that discovered tremendous things yet never told us what those things were.

The ironic thing is that the first investigation, which is still ongoing, actually will probably be more effective then this one. In this particular set of circumstances, the Inspector General actually has more power because they have automatic access to documents within the agency while an outside agency would be forced to go to a judge to subpoena almost everything, and would need criminal probable cause for most of it.

I think this is going to get real interesting, before it is all said and done.

My position has always been, there was a good chance those in the fbi, etc, overstepped their bounds and may have broken some laws. Wrong doing is wrong doing, whether it came from trump, or those investigating him.

Psst if an argument or rebuttal is so vapid and weak that it has to make personal jabs.... I give it no regard.

    Just saying for references.

BTW. I have read it, took almost 2.5 hours of reading and re-reading, but yes I did.

2.5 hours of reading and re-reading 400 pages. You were able to read dense legal writing at a rate of 12 seconds per page. Do you really expect anyone to believe this?

I'm pretty sure your math is off. He gave himself slightly over 20 seconds per page.

You are partially correct IMHO. You will hear little from the Democrats and their media lemmings (lie with the investigations currently happen gets little exposure).

But I think at some point the 800 pound gorilla will not be able to be ignored.

The infighting in those areas has already begun between Comey and Rosenstein.

480 pages. Thats 150 min or 9000 seconds.

That’s about right. Reading has always been a strong point. In high school my reading comprehension was 360 wpm.

I currently read a book a day, skim six news sources and study in the am.

You don’t have to believe anything. I could care less.
