Well, she kneed him in a sensitive spot on his body, but the incident occurred in the girls' bathroom.

Boys had invaded the girls' bathroom to take selfies. Allegedly, they were blocking the door, preventing the girls inside from leaving, so one of the girls took matters into her own knees and got suspended and expelled for it.

Why had boys entered the girls' bathroom? Apparently, "a student transitioning from female to male posted a selfie from the boys’ bathroom." [ETA: this was a totally separate, previous event.]

Having seen the selfie, the boys quite naturally responded in the most rational way possible, and invaded the girls bathroom.

Violence is seldom the answer, but depending on the details, this could very well be completely justified.

I should add that the district says "multiple students faced disciplinary action."

Its so interesting how in America people say kids/teens aren't mature/smart enough to drive, drink, smoke...etc to a certain age. But when it comes to them knowing what gender they are... apparently they are smart/mature enough to know at any age.

It's a disgrace that our school leaders would make rules that make it so a girl cannot have physical privacy to use the bathroom. This is poor leadership.

You'll have to be more specific. There could be a lot of "hers" in that story, innit?

The parents of that brat should be on there knees thanking the girl and forcing the school to let her back in .....

I've been keeping an eye out for the Huns, Goths, and Vandals. I haven't seen them yet, but you never know.

You're right, violence is sometimes justified. I was going to say that this could have been prevented if that first student had been kneed in a sensitive spot.

Why would the trans boy deserve such treatment?

From my perspective, gender is irrelevant in this case. It was the act of taking a selfie in the bathroom and blocking others from using it that is the violation. No one should do that, regardless of gender.

If people don't understand that ... oy, I give up.

This is one of those wonderfull, rare stories where everyone has at least three horses in the race, and at least one of them wins and one of them loses.

I didn't say it deserved such treatment, I said violence could have been prevented. What a strange question coming from an atheist.

So she misunderstood this person's gender and attacked them for it?

If there hadn't been the Trans angle, I would have complained that she was punished for defending herself. But it sounds to me like this person wasn't doing anything other than merely existing, which as we unfortunately know, is a bridge too far for those sensitive to the fact that Transgenderism exists. I dunno if she should have been expelled, but she sounds like the aggressor to me.

It sounds like your idea of prevention is more like a disease than a cure.

No.

Sorry, I realize now there are too many bathrooms in the story.

There was a boys bathroom, in which a transboy took a selfie, presumably while he was alone.

There was a girls bathroom, invaded by boys, where a boy blocking the door was kneed by a girl who was bring prevented from leaving.

You agreed with me on that point. I'm just curious why you seemed to be suggesting that violence directed against a different person in the story might have been better.

I agreed with you, because your post made it clear to me that an earlier act of violence could have prevented the later act of violence.

Well, the boy was trying to keep the girl from leaving the girls bathroom. So imho she realy was defending herself.
