'If the Bible says the earth is flat, it's flat.'

That is not evidence, it is a statement of faith. I can respect a person's faith, but not dressing faith up as science. Lots of scientists have faiths, and even more have none.

I want to see a photo from space showing the earth's edge. I am looking forward to it.
I don't know if it's faith exactly. If I chose to discard all science an just accept scripture, is that faith or is that accepting scripture as truth?

Sure it is. When you reject obvious evidence you only make yourself look like a science denier. By the way, you can't get that effect with batteries and a lens. You can claim to be able to do that but it has not been done yet by reality deniers.
Funny... I did it. Perhaps there is a gravitational anomaly in my kitchen? ^_^

All you have is belief. And you have deceived and misled yourself. Now when you are shown evidence that refutes your false beliefs you deny it. No evidence will convince you.
Images won't, photos may, and measurements may as well.

This is not true. There are satellites that take full pictures of the Earth every ten minutes. They are not composites.

Are they orbiting Jupiter then? How far away are they? Last I checked, NASA made it clear a full photo of the world from space wasn't possible by even the ISS, (it images 3% of the Earth at one time). EPIC took a photo though, and it was by Jupiter if memory serves.

Why don’t you? Why, specifically, don’t you?
I don't accept anything any space agency or current space company had to show me, simply because I've caught them in way too many lies. I don't tend to trust the guy crying wolf when there was never a wolf. If a wolf comes, I won't trust him so... I'll accept that risk.

Are they orbiting Jupiter then?

They’re orbiting the Earth

far away are they?

Depends. The Himiwari is about 22,241 miles away.

Last I checked, NASA made it clear a full photo of the world from space wasn't possible by even the ISS

The ISS is only about 250 miles up, so yeah. When did they ever say it wasn’t possible at all?

EPIC took a photo though, and it was by Jupiter if memory serves.

And?[/QUOTE]

The photo of power lines over Lake Pontchartrain demonstrates the curvature. The Earth is very large. The curvature is going to be very small. The constant height of the towers over the water enable you to see that curve.

I'm familiar with that satellite. I don't accept what it presents. Why on earth would I?
Yes, that is exactly the problem. Why on earth would you? You wouldn't. Because it goes against what you really really want to believe.

See, again with all this flat earther logic, there is a tiny little flaw in it.

This is a weather satellite. It is used to observe weather patterns, and these observations are again used by others.

So where do all these images - one every ten minutes - come from? CGI? Photoshop? That is the common explanation of Flat Earthers: it is fake.

But here's the rub: these weather patterns can be observed and confirmed from the ground. By people who rely on observing the weather... seamen or pilots for example.
It would be noticed if these images did not fit.

So the images from Himawari show real weather. Where do these images come from? Who creates them?

They can be observed and confirmed from the ground or air... but there aren't enough observers constantly peering at the sky at every point in the pacific hemisphere making photos, sending them to the artists who then composite a new photo - one every ten minutes!
Are there a lot of cameras floating on baloons making these pictures? Again, sending them back to be photoshopped into a globe image?

You don't accept it. But these pictures exist. So how do you explain their existence?

The ISS is too low to take in more than 3% of Earth's surface. Your satellite may be far enough away. If it is, that doesn't change my position. Furthermore, are there photos of that satellite in space? Are there any photos of satellites in space? Do any satellites orbit below the ISS?

It’s also worth noting that the reverse is true. You can see things happening on the Earth, like fires and volcanic eruptions, from the satellites. If you know when to look, you can even see the shadow of the Moon moving across the Earth during an eclipse.

Forget it, folks. If you took a flat-earther up in space and showed them the global earth from space, they'd be convinced that they were being somehow tricked and lied to.
Depends, honestly. If you did it now? I'd likely accept. If you did it in years to come, not so much. Why? VR technology.

1) The helmet can't be removed on a space walk.
2) The windows can't be opened in space.

It is.

Your satellite may be far enough away.

It is.

If it is, that doesn't change my position.

Oh, I didn’t think it would, but I’m curious as to your reasoning.

Furthermore, are there photos of that satellite in space? Are there any photos of satellites in space?

Without even bothering to look, let’s say there are. Would that actually mean anything to you? Be honest.

Do any satellites orbit below the ISS?

A few, but yes. The ISS is in low earth orbit - it’s about as low as you can get.
