As a few might already know, I'm into Christian Hip Hop, so the other day I watched this round table talk with Tedashii, Lecrae, Sam Collier, DJ Wade-O, Shanti Das and Benjamin Wills. For whatever it's worth or not worth, nothing in the video is about Calvinism etc., it's about life and Christian psychology/counseling/therapy more than anything, but it also contains a few surprises. I already knew Tedashi lost a son a few years ago, and I cannot imagine what he went through, but this talk gives a small glimpse.
Since it's a long video and people might just skip, here Tedashi was, this well known Christian Hip Hop artist with a couple of albums under his belt and a decent gathering of for lack of another word, fans, people who kind of looked up to him, respected him for what he was doing...when this terrible tragedy of loosing his son happened. He thought about ending it all, he almost did, except for his older son. He could not cope, he wanted to go away and live like a hermit on some island. Why, why did this have to happen to him? How could a sovereign loving God do this, or allow this? So here he was expected to perform and put out new material for his fans....while he couldn't deal, his struggle was such, that he hated God, though it would probably come and go, at the very least he went through bouts and times where in his own words he "hated God". Only a couple or so years ago did this situation begin to change, when he finally opened up to Lecrae and started talking about it, after he started reaching out for help, things have improved especially his relationship with God. So yeah, I recommend watching the video, regardless of who you are, we all need help sometimes.
