What makes you better than most people?

I believe that I'm different and special. The world needs more people like me.
I'll take that as a net positive for you.
You said - and I can quote it if you'd like - that Windsor cannot be compared to Detroit because Detroit is mostly black.
Under what circumstances would I, a Detroiter, be comparable to a Windsorite?
I think I said that in response to a poster who was pleading comparable minority demographics.
People are done waiting.
I know you are not big on substantiating your claims with specific and coherent reasoning, but i have to ask you to substantiate this.
Let me clarify. I'm not saying I'm uniquely different and special, but that I belong in a group of such that is very valuable and badly needed.
My physical and financial state is healthy and sound. My relations with family, job, and friends is tops. I'm still productive and have moved my responsibilities from maintenance and repair to improvements and upgrades. I have a very small carbon footprint (for the time being). I'm active in my community, always suggesting new and better methods of improving the city to leadership. I am a net supporter of my state and country financially by paying taxes. I have the praise of most who know me although there are a few who don't hold me in high regard (some are right here on the CF) .
One international student tenant, a middle-aged Palestinian lady, told me that I was "a very special person", although I hardly interacted with her at all. I don't know exactly how she came to that conclusion but I accept the praise.
You might have guessed by now that I am not a very modest person, but that's no sin.![]()
No, it was comparing gun deaths in Detroit vs. Windsor.
You also just said that you went through the context of the quote and agreed with your own analysis.
That analysis being that because there are more blacks in Detroit than Windsor the two cities can not be compared "in any universe".
So, under what circumstances would I, a Detroiter, be comparable to a Windsorite?
Pride?
Based on what you've revealed you may already be.
I think the question is: are you?
If I were prideful would that undo all that I have accomplished? And who would know? I've only admitted prideful satisfaction here on the CF. Should I show false modesty..."Aw shucks, it 'twern't nuthin'."
No, it most certainly isn't over. There are many psychological studies on the Historical Trauma and Intergenerational Trauma among Native Americans, African Americans, and other minorities.
I'm actually not interested in some White Savior gallantly trotting in like a knight on white horse to come to the rescue of minorities. In fact, I find that very annoying and extremely arrogant on the part of the white person. Native Americans, African Americans and other minorities don't need white people coming into their communities and telling them what they need to do with their own lives or how they should live their lives or how they should feel about the racial injustices committed against their own people and their ancestors. They don't need white people telling them to get over it and move on.

Oh, but it is!
(Racist)
Try pretending that you have heard this spoken TO YOU.
Dr King had a set of speeches lamenting how “the Negro community” was forever being told, “just a little while longer!”

No...and if that’s all it took to change our racist society, then you’ve expected to see a rapid homogeneousness throughout our society, with no discernible difference between wages, housing, wealth accumulation between the white majority and People of Color.I thought the Civil Rights laws were passed? Are we still living in the days of slavery or segregation or Jim Crowe?
I've done pretty well. I've had to work a lot harder than most other people, and have gotten very lucky on a couple of opportunities, but I've done well.
Now, if I was the only black guy, that may be fine. The point is most black kids don't get the breaks I did.
