  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If someone is criticizing 'whites', then yes, it's racist. When we attribue a characteristic to someone because of their race, that is racism.
Minorities can be, and are, just as racist as whites are but we never talk about that. I wonder why.

Racism is bad. I'm not ok with it.

Windsor's black population is around 7000 or about 3 percent!

Detroit's black population nearly 1,000,000 or about 85 percent!!

There is no universe where these are remotely comparable!!!

But you're pretty okay with it.

Minorities are just as racist as whites. Start a thread about which issues are adversly affecting whites and I'll participate.

But you're pretty okay with it.

Would you be happy if Windsor looked more like Detroit?

Consider this, so you can know me a little better than you do. I live in a city renowned in the region for the quality of drinking water (keep Flint, MI in mind). However, I drink only distilled water, have for 50 years. I also have a filter on my shower head to remove chlorine, etc. That, among many other aspects of life, places me in the smallest of minorities. So much so that most people don't understand me at all. :D

The truth sometimes hurts. People are so papered over with lies that when they hear the truth they can't "haaaaaandle" it.
And why are you uniquely placed to reveal these lies and to pronounce that racism is no longer an important problem for minorities?

Its about love for everyone, even for whites.

That needs clarification, to wit, you don't have to like someone in order to love them. Godly love, agape/agapeo has no such requirement.

Much of the black community in America is deeply troubled.

Much of America is troubled. Black, white, brown and polka-dot. The question I'm still posing is why I cannot be compared to a person from Windsor?

Aspects of life makes each person a minority. You're an individual. So am I. At the same time, that also doesn't make you different or special.

Like I said in one of my posts yesterday in this thread, minorities don't need white people coming into their communities and telling them what they need to do with their own lives or how they should live their lives or how they should feel about the racial injustices committed against their own people and their ancestors. Minorities don't need white people telling them to get over the past and move on.

I can't recall how many times I've heard white people try to insist how Native Americans should feel about their experiences as Native Americans or how minorities should react to racism against them. I've encountered many white people over the years who just had to add their two cents worth about what it must be feel like to be a minority or who have even tried to insist racism no longer exists.

Maybe you can, as an individual. It depends on the metric.

I believe that I'm different and special. The world needs more people like me.

You said - and I can quote it if you'd like - that Windsor cannot be compared to Detroit because Detroit is mostly black.

Under what circumstances would I, a Detroiter, be comparable to a Windsorite?
