If you understand the context of what is being said you can see God is forbidding the use of witchcraft and sourcery or black magic. You also have to understand that when Deuteronomy was written they did not have the understanding about the dead that we have now. They still believed the dead go to Sheol to wait. This is not the case now that Christ has risen. To be absent from the body is to be at home with The Lord. The Bible teaches that prayers of the elders and brethren can be beneficial. The saints are very much alive and well with The Lord. Praying to the saints did not come about out of a desire to worship idols. It came about by people believing what the scriptures say about those who are in the Body of Christ. That they are alive as the scriptures say and that they are in the presence of God. I know none of this will matter to you because you are under the letter of the law not the purpose for which the law was written. I’m sure you’ve heard all this before. When Jesus was asked what is the most important commandment he responded explaining the purpose of the law not the letter of the law. Seeing that you are still under the letter of the law I’m curious have you written your Torah scroll yet? If not you should probably get started on that right away. As far as where do the scriptures tell us to pray to the saints, the scriptures don’t tell us everything that is permissible. They tell us what is forbidden. The scriptures don’t say it’s ok to wear a green shirt on Tuesday and yet I’m confident that this is not forbidden by God. Countless people who truly seek to love and honor God have come to the realization that prayers to the Saints is not blasphemy. Even people from the very churches established by the apostles themselves have come to this conclusion. If it were blasphemy then the Holy Spirit would convict them about the matter. Same thing with worshipping on Sunday.

Sorry brother you missapply the scripture here and are reading into the scriptures something that is not written in them. ROMANS 14 is talking about food (eating and not eating) connected to days that men esteem over other days and juding others for this practice. It is not talking about days that God esteems. God's WORD tells us that which is esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God *LUKE 16:15.

I am sorry brother BNR32FAN, but it is God's WORD not mine. You are free to believe and do what you wish. The scriptures teach that it is hard for many to hear God's WORD if they do not want to *MATTHEW 13:14-15. All of God's WORD are for all those who seek to BELIEVE and FOLLOW JESUS. Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it *ROMANS 3:4.

I believe God's people are in every church but many follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God out of ignorance. In times of ignorance God winks at but when God gives us a KNOWLEDGE of the truth he calls us to BELIEVE and FOLLOW him *ACTS 17:30-31. JAMES 4:17.

JESUS says those who KNOWINGLY FOLLOW the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God are not following God *MATTHEW 15:3-9.

It’s not conjuring a spirit, it’s not using magic, it’s not doing a ritual, it’s simply praying. Therefore PRAYING to the dead and inquiring or asking something of the dead according to God's WORD is practicing NECROMANCY which is something that is forbidden by God.

Romans 14 is talking about judging others in relation to eating and not eating connected to days that MEN ESTEEEM over other days. ROMANS 14 is not talking about days that God ESTEEMS and it is not talking about God's 4th Commandment Sabbath. Hi Timothy416, nice to meet you here and welcome. How can you have the Spirit of the law if you do not have the letter of the law? There is not one scripture in all of God's WORD that says any one of God's 10 commandments are abolished. God's eternal LAW (10 Commandments) give us the KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL; SIN and RIGHTOUESNESS *ROMANS 3:20; ROMANS 7:7; 1 JOHN 3:4; PSALMS 119:172. If we have no knowledge of what sin is then we have no need of a Saviour to save us from our sins. If we have no Saviour then we have no salvation because we are still in our sins. If we are still in our sins then we are lost because the wages of sin is death to all those who reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23; HEBREWS 10:26-27.

God's 4th Commandment is one of the 10 commandments that give us the KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is. God's WORD says if we break ANY ONE of God's 10 Commandmnets we stand guilty before God of SIN. God's WORD also says ALL those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN do not enter the KINGDOM of HEAVEN because they have not been Born again to do so and they do not KNOW God *HEBREWS 10:26-27; HEBREWS 6:4-8; JOHN 3:3-7; 1 JOHN 3:3-10; 1 JOHN 2:3-4

Nope I do not walk in the flesh *GALATIANS 5:16. If you are knowingly practicing SIN you need to be BORN again *1 JOHN 3:3-10; 1 JOHN 2:3-4. SIN (breaking any one of God's 10 Commandments) *JAMES 2:10-11 will keep all those who KNOWINGLY practice it out of God's KINGDOM *HEBREWS 10:26-27 because those who do so reject the gift of God's dear son *ROMANS 6:23.
