Greetings...
My name is not important on the internet. However to give some context, I am male, 28 years old and living in Toronto Canada.
I have much learning to do, although I have done much learning in life. When I was very young, I learned how to learn rather than how to do x-y-z, and that seems to have served me well.
Where I am "at" now is not where I was 5 years ago, or even 1 year ago to be totally frank.
To give some more context, I am from a family that was not especially religious when I was a child, though my mother is Catholic and my father is Eastern Orthodox (Serb). I am sad to say that I never honestly looked very closely at religion and faith until the past 3 or 4 years, focusing more on "scholastic achievement". I was Christened at the age of 11, when my Baba was sick with cancer and made an earnest plea to my parents. I'm sure this will come up again in future posts. I grew up in Western Canada, training and competing in the obscure winter sport of Biathlon (cross country skiing and shooting a .22 long rifle) until the age of 17.
In any case, once I graduated high school, I decided to pursue a career in the arts as a musician (songwriter, lead singer, guitarist, bassist etc...) and I still do this in some capacity today. Over time I have realized that it can be an extremely unhealthy community to interface with, and so I choose very carefully the projects that I participate in.
In the meantime my indentured servitude to the fiat money system began in restaurants when I was 13, and continues to this very day although thankfully serving earns you more money than washing dishes. Seeing this as a rather bleak prospect for a lifelong occupation, I returned to school 3 years ago to study Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, after I began studying a martial art. Peculiar, I know.
In the interest of brevity, here's what I've noticed:
-Society and it's norms have become blatantly, unapologetically and undeniably satanic.
-There is more value in ancient texts and scriptures than I was ever taught to see.
-Science has been filled to bursting with it's own dogmatic, unquestionable presuppositions.
-I identify spiritually with Eastern Orthodoxy, something I've only accepted in the past 2 years.
So in summary, I'm here to learn! I'm also here to have an outlet for the things that I feel I cannot discuss with my friends, coworkers, and even members of my own family. I have an open mind, a kind heart, and an absurd and sometimes dark sense of humor.
I hope we can be of assistance to one another.
