First Stage
King of the Roman Empire end times - the little horn, 7th Julio Claudian King (Revelation 17:10). Of the Roman Empire, the fourth kingdom of Daniel 7:23-24. The kingdom of the ten kings, Daniel 7:23-24.
In latter time of their kingdom, a king of fierce countenance shall stand up - an idiom for prepares to go to war, Daniel 8:23. He assembles a strong army in one of the breakup kingdoms of Alexanders empire, Greece, as he prepares to head to the middle east toward Israel, Daniel 8:9.
He stages his army in Greece to be a deterrent to the invasion of Gog/Magog of Ezekiel 38. It does not stop Gog/Magog from invading anyway.
God supernaturally destroys Gog's army, Ezekiel 38:20-22. And there is a feast on the dead bodies in Ezekiel 39:4. It is the first of two feasts in Ezekiel 39.
Following Gog/Magog, the little horn arrives in the middle east with his strong army - from the people who back in 70AD destroyed the temple and city, Daniel 9:26. The Roman Empire.
In the end times, the Roman Empire appears to be the EU in its final form, the kingdom of the ten kings, their kingdom. The ten kings, leaders, the transgressors, are not in place yet, not come to the full, Daniel 8:23
Arriving in the middle east with his strong EU army, he is now the Prince who shall come, Daniel 9:26.
The person destroys many by peace, Daniel 8:25. He brings his EU army into the middle east under pretenses of securing peace and stability following Gog/Magog. The real reason is to secure all of the oil for the EU, the kingdom of the ten kings.
Messiah fever will be running high in Israel following Gog/Magog, and because the little horn person staged his EU army in Greece right before, his actions will be seen by the Jews as an intent to fight the battles of God in defending Israel.
And they will embrace him as being their long awaited messiah to be their King of Israel. He is about to enter the Second Stage. That of becoming the Antichrist.
So we will drop the first stage in the posts, and move to the second stage, becoming the King (illegitimate) of Israel. And to accommodate the word limitations allowed in a single post.
Second Stage
King (illegitimate) of Israel - as the Antichrist. The person must be a Jew. "Anti" meaning "against and instead of" Christ Jesus. The word Christ equals the word messiah, John 4:25.
Jesus is the rightful King of Israel, coming in the name of the Lord, John 12:12-13. Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
His own people reject him as their King of Israel, when he is put on trial, John 1:11, John 19:15. "We have no King, but Caesar"
Jesus is mocked by the chief priests with the scribes, recognizing the role of Christ as being the King of Israel. "Christ the King of Israel", Mark 15:32.
Jesus says that the Jews reject him, but another they will receive - coming in his own name, John 5:43. John in 1John2:18 says that they he was talking to were aware that Antichrist shall come. Likening them who even in their day had fallen away from believing Jesus was the messiah, calling them as antichrists.
The Jews (Judaism) have been looking for another (someone other than Jesus) to be their messiah, King of Israel. Someone, who according to their sages will fight the battles of God in defending Israel, and be a great politician.
Many Jews believe their messiah will arrive following Gog/Magog.
To become the King of Israel, the person must be anointed by a known prophet - according to Judaism. Historically, united Israel, there have been only three kings - Saul and David, anointed by Samuel; Solomon by Nathan. The Jews are looking for Elijah to be that prophet.
The first we hear of someone that would fit the role of appearing to be Elijah, but not the real Elijah, is the false prophet in Revelation 13:11. However, since Elijah is supposed to come before the Day of the Lord yeas begin, it is likely that the true Elijah is one of the two witnesses in Revelation 11:3.
Jews believe the messiah, one of his functions is teach them how to obey the Torah, which they call "instructions for life".
In addition in Judaism, there is a mystical branch called Kabbalah. Basically, it gets into forbidden areas, which others would consider the occult. And is forbidden even to Jews, who are not married and under 40 years old.
Third Stage
King of the Roman Empire end times - the beast, 8th Julio Claudian King (Revelation 17:11). Of the Roman Empire, the kingdom of the ten kings, their kingdom (Revelation 17:16-17). The ten toes of Daniel 2. In the days of these kings, God will setup an everlasting Kingdom, Daniel 7:44.
The ten kings rule with the beast, Revelation 17:12. Having their crowns in Revelation 13:1.
The beast in Revelation 13, coming out of the sea, represents both a king and his kingdom.
The beast is pictured as being made up of the three historic kingdoms in Daniel 7:4-7.
Being a composite,Revelation 13:2, it indicates that the beast's kingdom, and of the ten kings - the EU, the end times Roman Empire - will have control of all of the territories of the once former three empires of Babylon, Medes-Persians, Greeks.
Basically controlling all of the middle east oil.
Associated with the beast coming out of the sea, there will be another beast coming out the earth, Revelation 13:8. The sea is often times representative of being the nations. While the earth is associated with being Israel. Later in Revelation 16:13 and Revelation 19:20, the beast coming out of the earth is called the false prophet.
He is able to do miracles of the same likeness as Elijah, Revelation 13:13. So initially, he will be mistaken to be Elijah.
