Kind = genus
And I don't plan on changing my perspective on that anytime soon.
"Family" is too broad and "species" is too narrow.
"Genus" seems to be just right.
So a member of Homo ergaster is of the "Human kind"?
ETA: And ring species still presents a problem that you cannot explain. They are both the same "kind" and not the same "kind" according to your definition.
